You’re following 1.9k on X vs Nostr only follow 198

You’ve been on X since March of 2016 vs Nostr since December of 2022

On X you repost others and interact vs only reposting yourself on Nostr and not interacting

I honestly just do not see how that is relevant.

And even more the proportions do not transfer.

I mean how is it not obvious that the reason for this is lack of discovery algorithm? It is 500 vs 1.

If you don’t see how any of that is relevant, it’s no wonder why people here don’t find your content relevant.

Nostr has no algorithm by design, and it doesn’t need one.

Every client has to have some algorithm. Most clients have chosen to implement the “display content from follows in chronological order” algorithm.

Okay, fair, you can call that an “algorithm” if you want to.

What he’s talking about is specifically a “discovery algorithm “

Nostr doesn’t need a “discovery algorithm” the whole purpose is to find other based on reposts of others, interactions, lists, and feeds.

Nostr is a protocol, not a product. The purpose is whatever each client decides to build on top of it. Not everyone wants to discover content through a chronological feed. Some people are even experimenting with alternatives to a feed. There will be many clients and algorithms to choose from.

1) did you even check what the post was about?

2) how do you explain this IMENSE discrepency between twitter and nostr?

How can the SAME content be AMAZING on X but suck on NOSTR?

1) yes, I went back a read your original post on both X and Nostr. On X you comment on your own posts as a “thread” but Nostr uses Article formatting for longer more blog-like posts. If you only using 1 client like Primal, you’re doing it wrong.

2) the discrepancy comes between your immense lack of interactions and engagement on one platform versus your immense need for paying for a blue check to “get seen” on the other platform. Plus you engage more other there.

3) For the same reason that Content can be AMAZING on LinkedIn and suck pretty much everywhere else.

Don’t forget that you’re paying for that “visibility” and “engagement” on X.

1) I have 100 other posts that were single post, and the results are the same

2) why do you think I have a lack of interactions? Because there is no discovery algorithm.

Brother, I write things that I want people to see, I am not playing any game!

It’s not a fair comparison at all.

Try the test again from a 2 year old X account and don’t engage with anyone on there; only follow sub 200 people; and don’t use an account with a blue check or 8,000 followers.

Again, if you don’t see how any of what I’ve said is valuable then I’m sorry, I can’t help you.

OMG, you are something else.

Are you deliberately trying not to understand? You clearly understand p2p technology, nostr:nprofile1qqsxr0mepvsfftasxj2uncfk4nmpt0s0enpvh9d44na47mxwlcvtqcspzamhxue69uhkzarvv9ejumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcpr9mhxue69uhkc6t8dp6xu6twvaex2mrp0yhxxmmd9uq3camnwvaz7tmvdank2m3wvf6xxen0wfcxcetzwvhxxmmd9uzcum05 gave you a clear breakdown of what might be causing the differences, and yet you continue to repeat yourself without considering the points.

My only charitable take here is that you are not aware that Nostr is p2p, in that case have a read here: https://nostr.org/. Even after understanding that if you expect Nostr to be exactly like Twitter or whatever else, it's really not for you.

FWIW, I'll give you a follow because I generally liked when I saw your posts on Twitter.

There 2 t options:

1) logen is right, and I am such a idiot and can comprehend the basic things he explained

2) there is a lack of a discovery algorithm

Which one do you think it is?

Futher more what is so wrong in what I am doing.

I put a lot of time in researching Bitcoin topics and writting about them, and I just want to get them in front of some people that are interested in this.

Some how this is wrong, because?

Try posting more about cows and bicycles. I like cows and bicycles.

Or take your t shirt off. That’s also popular here.

Cows and bikes yes sure

idk about the shirt off

Might require big bobs for more interaction

Maybe that just works on Primal? Hmm…

I could see myself investing in a b00b job.

Where isin't taking your shirt off popular? :D

What makes you believe that your success on Twitter is due to their discovery algorithm? And which version of it? Maybe you just got lucky there, or as others point out, put in more (audience targeted) effort and time.

1) I have gotten lucky in the last 15 days consecutively?

2) I have done this last year, I have 30 days where I got lucky also?

So how can I get lucky 45 consecutive times. I mean I have a higher chance of finding a bitcoin block by hand.

But that's not the point, the point is that CONSISTENTLY anything I post here gets 1/2 likes if anything.

So how can there be such a BIG discrepancy?

But the most surprising thing is that people just do not want to even consider that may be a possibility.

You already have the followers, which I suspect any discovery algorithm takes into account.

You have some points. There’s some accounts I follow and look forward to reading but will miss their posts entirely because timing difference or it’s between bunch of others I follow who post a shit ton. I have to put a notification on to get pounded when they post anything to get it

Exactly it's like using the internet without google.

I do get that it's early and things are not easy to build, but dear God I do not understand these people who act like have a way to get the information you want is a bad thing.

I think a market place for algos will come but we’re so early
