I liked the book Brain Rules for Baby: How to Raise a Smart and Happy Child from Zero to Five; a big thing that I took away was finding ways to help wife manage stresses, that most/many gadgets are useless.
Also a NICU nurse told us about food sources that "while breastfeeding is best, a fed baby is a good baby".
