Picked up a bushel of peaches from the local orchard. They were seconds, so the whole thing was under $40.

For those who are new to orchard teminology, a bushel is about 54 lbs, and seconds are slightly imperfect looking fruit sold at a discount.

If you are canning or dehydrating, it's great and IMO it's fine to eat fresh, bake in a pie or do anything else with for that matter. It's hard to even tell what's wrong with most of them!

So much wasted food out there

My husband is picking up peaches from a friend that just drove out of state to bring back a huge load of peaches for friends. I'm going to enjoy some peaches tonight.

Grocery store peaches are gross. Fresh off the tree peaches are some of the best fruit you can eat.

Following up from yesterday's post about the peaches. These are quart jars and it's about a third of our haul.
