Does bitcoin save a coffee shop from being a money pit?

Depending on the city/area you could start with a coffee “truck” to gauge success. Test out various locations, and if its profitable then expand to a brick and mortar or merge with an existing bakery.

Eh. Can't do that grind with current fiat slavery job

Why would it?

Makes thin margins viable

Any business that uses bitcoin as their unit of account will have an unfair advantage

Does that hinge on the assumption that you will remain stable for x years in a losing position?

Bitcoin does not make bad business ideas viable.

So if you ask it like that, probably not.

Is a coffee shop an inherently bad business?

Nope, but can be a saturated market. I think not bitcoin makes the difference, but your uniqueness.

Bitcoin just makes life "fair".

Right. Demographic difference and location are the big unlocks. Location being prime. Hugh commuter traffic off major interstate.

depends on goals.

but starbucks wound tell you drivethroughs is where the money’s @

It will require a drive through to be viable. High commuter traffic along highway.

If it’a more about the place. Consider checking already implemented stores, that have good traffic and uou can approach the owners see if they are interested in selling it or becoming partners. You can inject money into the business allow for renovations, and test if they are interested in the Bitcoin part you might find a good partner

Bitcoin isn't the selling point. Location is. And customer demographic that is not well served in this area

You'd need to do the economic calculation in BTC. Take your business idea and run the numbers. If the numbers don't work out then BTC is telling you that you should consider something else. That being said, IMO coffee isn't a major problem to solve, so I'm guessing it's not going to be that profitable.

Third spaces are a problem needing solved.

I see so it's not really about the coffee.

Coffee is the sats flow but I envision it growing to more.

I also want an immersion mining setup to heat the water. On display behind plexiglass for customers to see.

The idea for heating the coffee water with miners is pretty clever but the operational temps of miners (0C to 40C) are lower than the optimal brewing temps (90C to 96C). Though you could use it to preheat the water with the miners and the setup would be a super cool visual.

Good call on the heat. It would just feed the water heater, not direct to brew

Could have a server room in build out for things.

Could host events in second floor area or more generally serve community needs.

Trying to determine the value of third spaces.

The best position in coffee is the small independent roaster who provides the base product to the coffee shops. A single person can roast and deliver the product.

I have a buddy who clears 50k month by himself. He put in a decade as lead trainer for a larger local chain. He knew exactly what to offer, at what price and how they liked it.

Unlike a coffee shop you don't have to deal with customers

Minimal industrial space with low rents

No shop hours

No health code inspections

No food handler permits

No constant rotation of lame barista chicks quitting for the next shop

A coffee shop has to be high volume and setup in a lean workflow with drive thru. You have to really make the coffee better and nearly the same price as starbucks and faster.

Plus there is constant noise if the system of a new coffee shop opening like every day too.

I will say that the topless drive thru coffee spot always has a line but not sure how to write the HR handbook for the dress code.

It's on a commuter highway and would be marketed toward veteran friendly politics, which are numerous is this area. Drive through is a must for the volume. The entire thing hinges on location and an underserved demographic with no third space or local coffee business to support.

Highway is good

Have a good entrance and exit

Be frictionless arrival and good que

If you see too many trucks in line ya ain't stopping

No more than ten minutes tops

Orders need to be taken by a friendly girl in the lot walking truck to truck

Have a breakfast/ lunch offering that is quality but takes no longer than a coffee to get ready

No stupid awnings that lifted trucks can't fit under to order

Loyalty accounts with good rewards

Tap to pay

Learn names and break the corpo barrier to personalize

Great insights.
