1.think of your lightning wallet as your “bill fold” you carry only a small amount of cash(cash for the weekend, or night out), rug pull won’t affect much.

2. Think of your “software” self-custody wallet as your checking account. (On chain held. )

3.think of your hardware/cold storage as your savings account.

For people that are looking to host their own domain and self verify using #nip05 couple of caveats:

1. make sure to set up ssl. The nip requires https be used, #primal works with either most others require ssl

2. “_” is the local part for entire domain verification (e.g. _@bitcoinstr.us ) this conveys you own the domain. But most clients can’t lookup by that unless it matches your user name.

Big callout to: https://certbot.eff.org/ don’t pay for a ssl cert for this use case get one for free.

I am not yet doing this. But am also planing to set up my own relay or possibly code my own relay.

reason is because, this is the only way to ensure all your messages are stored somewhere. Most of the other relays will purge or archive data after some time.

For this to really work though there needs to be client cooperation where the client will not post a note unless your relay is connected.

The relays don’t talk to each other.
