Yes, really. It’s just an opinion and different perspective from someone that actually joined the app and explored it.
I have no idea about his political motivations. I don’t know the guy nor do I follow him.
You need a better screenshot.
I can see that. But maybe he sees an opportunity and a way to stay relevant. After all who exactly is using Facebook? Younger gens aren’t. I think Zuck bought Instagram to stay relevant. Bought Oculus to stay relevant. So perhaps with Thread it’s the same with the additional intention to move eyeballs from Instagram (which has a younger more adaptive audience using multiple platforms) to grow it. When I joined Thread I could choose to follow the same ppl I follow on Insta automatically.. ‘making it easy’ for me. I imagine many will choose this option with an end result of ppl not losing their followers… which is kinda smart. You don’t need an invitation they saved a spot just for you if you have an Instagram account.
As far as being a Twitter clone.. the vibe is different/fresh and the UI is better. Content is a little more imaginative aesthetically. Could be just a honeymoon phase tho.
All this being said I’m not a Zuck fan. Privacy is an issue. And I still like it here! I just think there are takeaways from Thread.
I just joined Threads. I’m not leaving here. There’s a nice refresh animation on the @ icon and some nuances that feel good
Oh snap. I wonder how this will play out! https://gizmodo.com/miami-bitcoin-mayor-francis-suarez-running-president-1850543568
What’s crackin nostr friends? How’s everyone doing?
This is probably an unpopular choice but I’m gonna try it. Doesn’t mean I’m leaving here. I like it here. I just want more of diversity of conversation. And I’m on most social… I feel like the Goldilocks of social: TT is for teens and oddly moms (nothing wrong w that just not my demo), Twitter is just depressing and weird, Mastodon has moral police vibes, Post seems like it’s for boomers (again nothing wrong w that just not my demo), FB (I disabled my account long ago) is for people to vent or share family pix and write posts that TLDR about stuff you’d probably read on Nextdoor, Discord.. I join channels ppl ask and rarely engage.
Insta is where I have the most followers and found it easier to engage. But I rarely post on it nowadays because I don’t have copious amounts of time to craft reels, stories, videos etc so to have the option to have more text based posts to those followers is nice. I’m not a fan of MZ but EM has made him seem like he’s not so bad.
Pro. Light may limit your creative possibilities. Set yourself up for those possibilities. 😊
I’m on a Pro. I design in Figma every day. But also create art in Photoshop (large files), video edit, animate and illustrate. I only started video editing and animating a year ago bc of a project required it. I wouldn’t have been able to do so on a lesser computer.
Really wish I could see the super bloom in Cali
Hi! My Twitter experience (and other social) was/is that people would delete old tweets/posts (especially famous people) that either was rant, overly emotional, and a cause of embarrassment which would lead to ridicule and fed into the witch hunts of cancel culture. I think and hope by eliminating the ability to delete, people will be more thoughtful or at least own up to their present and former beliefs.
I’m curious what everyone thinks here about this post (from metav3rse on Insta). I’m not a fan of Elon but interested to hear different takes! #Twitter #Elon
I’ve seen these btc atms around more and more at gas stations and have wondered if people actually use them. I found out (at one location) that they’re used frequently (every other day) and the average customer are seniors. Fees must be bananas on these. Also remember fiat atms? 😂
Ohhh I will sign up for firefly! Thanks for the heads up on that!
🙏🏼 I just found out about Abobe Photogrammetry. I might check out the webinar for that on April 13.
Excellent point about AI and it birthing a new creative elite.. so interesting. I’m gonna be thinking about that for awhile! And definitely agree about strategies too.
I wish I had a break tbh. I’m too much in my head. But I’m working on an extensive library of icons for a company. It’s a fun project. I did some animated svgs which was cute. I have around 114 more icons to do. I’ve already done about that amount. It’s really really cool to see these simple vector illustrations bring joy to people in the company. Makes me happy too!
How’s your project going?
Ahh your project sounds cool!
I forgot I animate and do motion gfx too! 😂 I think it’s great to do as much as you can. Equally great to work in a team or collab. But sometimes you have to wear many hats.
As far as AI goes, I think use it as a tool and learn from it. I’ve been so overwhelmed with work I haven’t had much of a chance to play with it. But when I did I immediately wanted to take AI imagery and fuck with it/composite it as you might with any photo. Could also be useful to see it’s take on a project for inspiration/motivation. Also good to be aware of how it will evolve.
I have mixed feelings about it in general. I like that has made non creative ppl so fascinated with the art (even if AI created). But I have seen the same people selling that art on Open Sea and find that odd.
Sometimes I think things are cyclical. So in this case I can see a backlash to more sentient human made creativity/art/design.
This is a really good AI documentary you might like (AlphaGo): https://youtu.be/WXuK6gekU1Y
No prob. Don’t mind at all!
Ohh wow this gonna be a long reply 😂 because I do a lot: digital (site, app, design systems, ui but that’s been mostly games), branding, print (small to large outdoor installations), event design, photo illustration & compositing, traditional illustrations, storyboarding (film & tv), digital illustrations (vector illustrations and painting), iconography and art directing. Just wrapped a big project art directing a photo shoot of 27 real people (as opposed to models/actors), choose selects (out of 4000) to send to color retouchers and art directed them. All that being said not sure I have one speciality. It’s more like a passion for all things creative and learning new ways. Also believe in creative cross training for myself. But I have total respect for others that master one skill tho! Most people I admire concentrate and become true masters of one thing. I just want to try everything. What about u?
This is awesome🎢 https://youtu.be/RVeHxUVkW4w
