Bitcoin is the separation of money and state, nostr is freedom of speech. https://simplex.chat/contact#/?v=2-7&smp=smp%3A%2F%2FSkIkI6EPd2D63F4xFKfHk7I1UGZVNn6k1QWZ5rcyr6w%3D%40smp9.simplex.im%2FzXclvqxP8A_Bm7W27BEKA3q5unBt3bUt%23%2F%3Fv%3D1-3%26dh%3DMCowBQYDK2VuAyEAo4fgWEhVSARJRv1oTsFOxjtq8isqfQlt-3uC1E37ezc%253D%26srv%3Djssqzccmrcws6bhmn77vgmhfjmhwlyr3u7puw4erkyoosywgl67slqqd.onion

Hast du einen Link oder Publikationsort dazu?

Würde ich mir gerne mal im Kontext anhören.

Boom. My new book, Broken Money, is now available on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CG83QBJ6

I will formally announce it later today, so I guess this is the initial Nostr exclusive. It’s not even searchable on Amazon yet since it is still being incorporated into their wider database. But if you have that link, it is ready for purchase.

The ebook, audiobook, and other print distribution partners will be rolled out over time.

Thank you everyone for your support! This has been a wonderful project to work on, and it will hopefully educate more people about the current problems in the global monetary system and the solutions that Bitcoin has to offer people around the world.

Congratulations! I am so excited to read your book and eagerly waiting for the ebook.

I am sure it's going to be a banger! 💥

(response on Twitter to someone endlessly playing the purity game over having a normie use @walletofsatoshi) 👇🏻

Interested to hear your thoughts or successes/failures in this regard:

"I have a process that has worked really well for onboarding people to holding their own keys, and its ~3 steps. The opening is the most important because 99% of people just don't care or are interested for all of 10 seconds and then forget about it the moment you leave.

The singular reason I have used @walletofsatoshi recently is because they have Lightning Address by default. It isn't even about lightning. If I just wanted to send them a $10 tip and be done with it, then we'd use @PhoenixWallet, which is where I shift them after they have a meaningful amount & want to know what to do with it.

But that's not what I was trying to do, because that's not what *they* care about, it's what *I want them* to care about. Instead I go for something with easy lightning address (which Greenlight + @Breez_Tech might fix in the coming weeks completely non-custodially), so that people on social can tip them. Then they spend the next 2 days seeing tons of zaps flood into their wallet.

The simple fact is, it's exciting. It's interesting. It catches their attention repeatedly over the period of a few days. It keeps them engaged for longer. *Then* it becomes possible to make them care about what it is, and why they should think about it differently.

I think it's me being completely self-centered & have found it completely unsuccessful to boot, to think I can force someone to come at something with *my* perspective or to demand that they care about it the way that *I* do, instead of realizing what is relevant to them and starting from there.

I've been doing this for 12 years. If all you want to do is posture on socials that you are "more pure" or whatever, then go ahead and I hope you get something out of it. But if you want to actually succeed at changing peoples' minds, I'm happy to talk about what has or hasn't worked for me and maybe we can learn something from each other.

No hard feelings. Just trying to get us closer to a #Bitcoin future where everyone can be sovereign and more importantly, understands why they should care about it. You do it your way. I know what has worked for me and I'm always open to suggestions if you have any good ones."

Whenever I see someone on nostr post the ln address of someone the just orange pilled, I always shoot a few sats but never without sending a funny/awkward message with the invoice. 😉

No, basically you are right. You’ll be left with cryptographic proof of all the shitposts you made in the past 😄.

As long as timestamps on notes can be backdated as far back as you want, you could simply leak your nostr private key at a later stage and then argue, that a specific post from the past was not made by you, but by an imposter who took your (now public) nsec and backdated a particularly nasty note, that you would never have posted yourself. 😉

Strange. I would assume five connected relays are enough to get posts. Are these small relays or big known ones?🤔

But I understand that this is a negative experience and might turn away new users.

I am waiting for this episode any day now. He‘ll eventually have to have Bitcoiners on and then we’ll see the actual reach of his podcast..

Offerings for enterprises like paid infrastructure.

It’s a simple database file you store locally so you are self-hosting by default.

You can synchronize the file between devices with your Nextcloud or syncthing. Keep in mind that you need to keep backups of that file!

Depends on your use case if Matrix is the right candidate. If you want to minimize trusted parties that could gather personal information then SimpleX might be the better option.

If we all start recommending these used micro PCs we’ll make bitcoin even more sustainable because we reuse old hardware instead of waiting for the newest shipment of RPis.
