Even with my video off on Zoom, I find myself using hand gestures… effective… not that they’re even valuable when visible 😂
Wow just tried VSCode. Don't like much. IntelliJ seems far superior.
Despite #Ubuntu failing partway through install every time, I managed to salvage the partial install and all is up and running! Windows dual booted.
Sad things:
1. Corsair iCue AIO software etc is not supported in Linux, so going to try OpenRGB.
2. The cooler LCD is not software-rotatable (yet) and due to how I mounted it, it lies on its side.
But loving the machine. So nice to have a desktop again.
Now can start doing GPU programming again… first time since #CUDA 3.x
I’m sure so much has changed in #GPU architecture and the SDK…

Grrr.. my apartment is 3 stories. But the fiber connection is on the ground floor.. my office is on the top floor. I’d love a direct ethernet connection to my router. The wifi is super iffy, even with a repeater. Sigh. Nothing I can do about it.

Just installed windows for the first time in 12 years. Forgot how ugly OS UIs are compared to MacOS. Next up Gnome. Hahaha
I’m still running the old version that has zaps. Doubt Apple will ever allow it back
In a month or two. First one! Very grateful already
My dad used to do this with me and I can’t wait to do so with my son who is soon to be born!
Just finished Low-Intensity Run #4. That’s once a week for 4 weeks now. Going to increase my frequency going forward.
Average heart rate was 142bpm over 4km.

Thanks for explaining!
It was a new observation for me! It definitely feels like a different usage type!
Although I can speak Japanese and have been here ~10 years. It’s not trivial to follow the fast conversations. So although I really want to meet Japanese #nostriches and follow the community discussions I found it difficult to keep up with what’s going on because of the volume of messages.
There seems to be a big difference in the way #Japanese use social media (#twitter and #nostr). High volume of short messages. Often you have to read previous messages to understand context.
Whereas English speakers seem to have fewer messages but much longer, summarizing thoughts around a topic
There we go…
I’m sure I could’ve found that if I’d tried harder haha. I’ve only read up to NIP 4 thanks to busy life.
Thanks for sharing!
So yeah, you can copy the note nevent id and then paste in search, but I’m talking about sharing “clickable” links etc. so if I shared a note to another app chat group, it would render as nostr://e/neventxxxx or something. And people in the chat tapping that link would have it open in their Nostr client of choice.
I think it’s possible to register and associate custom schemes with apps. I know on my computer ssh:// URIs are configured to open an ssh connection on my terminal when I click them.
Not 100% sure of the feasibility but was wondering about it, because a lot of clients create a snort.social http URI to notes or profiles, rather than something generic.
I'm still reading through NIPs, but is there one for a #nostr URI scheme? like "nostr://" so that objects can be referred to in a generic way rather than like snort http URL for example. So I can share a note link (eg. nostr://e/neventxxxxx) from #damus to my friend and it can be opened with his default app (eg. #amethyst)?
