My favorite day of the month. In Japanese they often make pun-like jokes using dates. For example today, the 28th, 2 is read as に (ni) and 8 (八) which is usually pronounced “hachi” can also be read as わ (wa). So 28 is にわ(niwa) the word for chicken is also “niwa-tori” (鶏).
So KFC always have specials on the 28th of each month as chicken day!
29 is にく(niku) = meat day.
There are many other funny ones that some Japanese nostriches actually told me about last month… but I forgot!

Haha. Of all the problems that could arise with increased tourism, this is definitely on the good end of the spectrum. Such a Japan thing to bring up ♥️ hahaha
Japan recently has problems with the significant increase in tourists.
* One problem is the increase in garbage, especially garbage that hasn’t been properly thrown into the right recycling bins - meaning that people end up having to separate the garbage.
* Another problem is an insufficient number of buses. It’s the season for school trips, but many schools are finding it hard to get buses due to the high tourism demand.

The food I love the most in the world is probably pizza (lots of cheese and so versatile, and great to make at home). But the fast food I always want to eat is KFC
