I’ll stick with it and just give feedback until it’s better. I find them quite responsive to feedback and I like the product. Apart from the queue issue I don’t really have problems. It’s a small team and there are growing pains with any new product. Obviously that’s not for everyone though. Thanks for the recommendation - I will give that a checkout sometime!

My #fountain queue somehow reordered itself 😭

I got fined in Japan the other day for driving too long in the right hand lane (usually the overtaking lane in Japan) in the middle of the country side where there was no one around.

I was showing my visiting parents the scenery, and saw the cops speeding up behind me , so I pulled over to let them past (because I was in the fast lane and know the rules).

They slowed down as they passed me and waved me over to give me a fine.

Funny thing is that I was actually over the speed limit and thought that's why they would fine me.. But no, "driving in the passing lane for too long"

Japanese police really don't have much to do though, except reach their quotas.

What is the feasibility of running bitcoin nodes on radio. As in, they don’t (only) connect to other nodes via internet connections but also by broadcasted radio signals.

I know some radio signals have decent range but I’m not sure on bandwidth and latency and what would be required by the Bitcoin network as-is.

My main use-case is for how people could sync nodes in a case where the internet is shut off or censored or excessively priced.

Even if for just a local area, with some edge nodes connecting to the internet where available.

I don’t know much about radio but it would be really cool if possible - and would be another plan for resilience.

(I know there have been projects that send transactions over radio, but I don’t believe they were full nodes)

Bark’s speech generation is not great with numbers. Telling my things are in the thousands that should be in the tens of thousands

I wish AI stuff wasn’t mostly in Python. I can’t stand the language. Funny how 12ish years ago I loved it

Nearly finished reading Theft of Fire by Devon Eriksen… haven’t been able to put it down. First Novel I’ve read in many years. Ticks all the boxes; pushes all my buttons.

Heard about it when nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev interviewed him on Bitcoin Audible in https://fountain.fm/episode/OGQV5geuq6SrJVDosjY4

Glad I got my hands on it! Looking forward to more of this!!!

Are you saying you want to understand the technical stuff but in layman’s terms. Or just the high level overview of what’s possible from a regular user perspective. (I was thinking of making a blog post on this, although there are a few already)

Could you give an example of what’s in that 20% that you do know vs something you’ve heard of but is in the 80% you don’t understand

It's been like 15mo since I created my #nostr keys, after which I joined Nostrasia and met many nostriches/bitcoiners since.

The Nostr ecosystem has improved SOO MUCH since when I joined. UX and stability of microblogging clients is like 100x better. And there are so many other more tools and ideas around now.

Super excited about it all. Just sad I haven't contributed any dev yet! Plenty of time!

Am I the only one who finds it extremely difficult to navigate email threads on gmail?

Before I started remote work and I used to have to go into the office each day, I remember standing at the platforms of a few stations and smelling the leftover tonkotsu of nearby Ramen shops from the night before. At first made me sick, first thing in the morning. But later I kinda liked it... hahaha

Its not my field but AI advancements I see mostly are mostly generative LLM or Image diffusion models etc. all pattern based.

Is there any work being done on logic learning AI that would actually be more of a form intelligence rather than an imitation?

Stuff that can do logical deduction and reasoning and math.

From what I have read LLMs are just glorified “complete the sentence:” monkeys.
