Is someone going to pick up #flockstr or start an alternative? I was looking forward to seeing it evolve. #nostr definitely needs some sort of meetup platform because we’re all so social.

I wonder if it’d be be part of some communities implementation that nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn is always on a quest to perfect?

Yeah I wasn’t really meaning the feeling would be same. FOMO is a greed feeling. The feeling one would feel in front of Christ would be of awe filled desperation and fear - a sudden realization and revelation of Truth and what that means existentially.

Terrifying.

Not exact parallels, but I just wrote that note as it popped into my head haha

Nope. Not sure why I started looking at alternatives earlier. Maybe because i was migrating away from their old custodial Lightning wallet and thought I’d do the same with my nostr signing.

Might keep it for nostr after all. Was a great UX.

You mean separate browser profiles? sure.. that's an option. Solves the local storage/cookie cache issue too. But it means I have completed isolated everything else, which is not always the goal

Any recommended #nostr browser signing extensions that support multiple profiles?

I was using Alby but looking to try something else

What's the quickest way to stand up a nostr application to POC stuff?

(And what are the incantations/hashtags to use when discussing nostr dev? Or is there a better place to discuss things?)

#asknostr #nostrdev #dev #nostr

I don't know how many of the people in the #nostr and #bitcoin communities, and podcasters etc. who have wives and children are able to still put so much time into building stuff... Especially those who do so in additiona to a fiat job.

I have no free time, but so much desire to build stuff.

Any #nostr #dev groups on Signal or SimpleX?

I got rid of Telegram (obviously) a few months ago, but with that lost access to a lot of discussion.

I really don’t want a single app for all nostr applications. Separating concerns seems right. But how would we route different event URIs to the right apps?

One day AI will create Japanese signs that make sense. But it might be the final boss πŸ˜‚

I thought buttcoin was satire for a while. Then I learned it’s just filled with idiots

We don’t expect standard note-focused clients to be understand all event kinds. But it’s common to want to share special events from within standard #nostr notes.

E.g. sharing a URI to a recipe I created on zap.cooking

Even if it just rendered it with the title, there’s no way to open it in the right client.

I wonder if we could build a Nostr router app that could be configured by the user to open preferred apps for a corresponding event kind.

Ideally we would have the event kind in the URI scheme so the router wouldn’t need to download the event first.

Then I could click a nostr:35000:neventabcdef21 URI and I could have the router configured to open it with zap.cooking and the same for other event kinds.

Is this a dumb idea?
