When they don't find a block for a few days it can be. It should average out over time. Look at your earnings from a monthly perspective and see if you made more or less than mining with other pools.

This is my first one, but I do trust that the payouts will be a bit more with ocean. The thing that sucks is I will need to migrate to my business bitcoin address in a few days so I’m going to lose my share log contribution.

You basically get paid out if Ocean find a block. Sometimes they find a bunch in one day, other times it could be days till they find a block.

Luxor and Nicehash likely "smooth out" the payouts of finding blocks as an average. You get paid consistently whether they find blocks or not, but the payout will be less.

I like what Ocean is doing and want them to be one of the bigger pools. Thats why I mine with them.

Also, finding out, mining with them is not for the faint of heart!

I might have to walk back one of those statements. After thinking more on it.

Ocean might not take a 2% fee if you use “Bitcoin knots” and “Datum” to construct your own block template.

I don’t know enough to construct my own template to get the 1% fee instead of the 2%. I’m guessing I could possibly learn it, but haven’t committed the brain power. The big thing that sold me on them was their approach that you highlighted and how payout is done with TIDES. I think it’s the most fair.

I’m thinking to as well. I get some of the main differences between them and other pools, but their fees are quite a bit higher. I can get 0.7% and 0.5% fees on Luxor and Nicehash, respectively. Curious if their TIDES method at the end of the day still pays out more, net of fees.

A decade ago I was in my car at a stoplight, and there was a bunch of seagulls eating a discarded bag of fast food in the intersection.

When the light turned green, the car in front of me went slowly to give the seagulls a chance to fly away, but they didn't. Instead, the car's tire just slowly ran over a whole pile of seagulls, who just kept going after the fast food as they were run over. I just watched horrified as this played out.

Every once in a while, I just wonder why the seagulls never got out of the way despite how slow the threat was.

Anyway, looking at the bond market reminded me of this again today.

The fiancialization of #Bitcoin by Wall Street has always been inevitable.

I'm not even very bright, but I've been talking about this happening for many years.

So this week will simply mark another milestone in the growth and development of the #Bitcoin monetary and financial network.

What's more interesting (to me) is what will happen over the ensuing years and decades.

As a completely separate monetary and financial network from the US dollar-led fiat/credit based network, I think that #Bitcoin will eventually grow too unwieldy and powerful to be contained by Wall Street, as well as by most corporations and fiat-based governments.

Eventually, possibly as soon as the 2030s, #Bitcoin will actually overpower fiat/credit-based entities, break free from their attempts at control and coercion, sever all remaining ties, and separate government from the production and control of money.

Truly, it will be a brave new world.

And, dare I say, it will be a much better world for the vast majority of humanity.

It's not a speculation, an investment, or a portfolio hedge...
