Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18) of the Holy Quran. It discusses the story of the Sleepers of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf) and mentions the situation regarding their money when they woke up after many years. The relevant verse is:
**Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 19:**
“And so We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, ‘How long have you remained [here]?’ They said, ‘We have remained a day or part of a day.’ They said, ‘Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and be cautious. And let no one be aware of you.’”*
This verse refers to one of the sleepers being sent with ‘money’ to buy food after they awoke, and it's implied that their money had gone out of circulation, making it a sign of the long time they had spent in the cave.
