Yes, it is definitely the smooth and mellow type of sip. But the other thing that people sometimes have a hard time with is the level of earthiness. But that has quite grown on me. (Like moss lol) Usually my first couple of sips after I've roasted a bunch are kind of an interesting experience, it very quickly becomes addictive.
Um, listening to another soliloquy from Nico publically working out his disappointment in Bitcoin, his disappointment that it didn't outperform the S&P and gold. He's mad a bit going for not doing what it was supposed to do. He's mad at the OGs for using some of their holdings to finance their lives.
It's simple. He's mad that bitcoin didn't do what he wanted it to do over the arbitrary time frame of 2025.
Bitcoin currently sits at almost $90,000. Just say that out loud a couple times.
Sir... Sir? Sir?!? Can you stand?
Your 15 minutes are up.
This is common in the southwest. Kerala, Goa. The Malibar coast.
In my experience this coffee is either loved or hatred. Low acid, smooth, silky, earthy... Very odd compared to. most others (also good!).
But I hope you enjoy it!
I do not apologize.
I realized tonight I'm pretty fully black-billed at this point. It's a sad state of affairs, because I could take responsibility for it. Could just be my life, who I am. But honestly, I think it may have more to do with the world that I live in, the cage that I live in it.
I actually roast outside as well. My roaster lives on the porch of my recording studio. (I know, it just gets more and more exotic, doesn't it?).
So, a compressor is a viable way to clean that sucker out. Maybe even a little more efficient than the shop back, although it's just going to blow the chaff all over my porch.
I almost took a picture of the behmor tonight when it entered its safety mode... 30 seconds to press the button! I am sure you're familiar with that little nuisance unless you're lucky enough to either have an old one or have replaced the motherboard with that "safety feature".
Luckily, I've learned some techniques and ways to actually execute a goid interrupted roast from the times that that stupid thing catches me. 😁
I have a love-hate with the machine. It really is fantastic and very beautifully thought out by the guy that made it. But at the same time, I'm a feel person. So all of the automation and buttons and various tweakery that he's programmed into it. It really is not my bag. I rely much more on smell.
But here is tonight's roast. It is a lighter than usual, monsooned Indian coffee. Very unusual.

More info about it here.

This is just past second crack.... Already dark for me, but I will usually go even further with this one just because of the nature of the beans. But not this time, we're going to taste a little bit more of the variety itself.

Then why don't you shut the fuck up about it?
When you explained the need to blow the chaff I 100% wondered if you had a Behmor. I do too.
My excuse for a compressor!
I actually have a shop vac i use. Sometimes even mid roast if is oddly chaffy.
I will roast some wacky Indian "monsooned" beans tomorrow.
As a fairly deeply experienced coffee roaster myself, I'm trying to figure out how the air compressor figures in.
I just want to sharpen this point with a couple more things. First of all, Opti's episode today is fantastic. And secondly, I really enjoy hearing Nico pontificate about his viewpoint when it comes to things in the Bitcoin realm and politics, etc.
It's just the constant return to "this is not what it's supposed to have been. We were outperformed by the S&P." Etc. It's not the bearishness. It's the whininess
At an Indian pizza restaurant.
I don't believe you are who you say you are.
I am a smoldering mess, honestly.
But I guess I'm still here.

Well, that looks like a real easy-going sit on the couch and eat popcorn kind of movie.
I wonder if it would be like to listen to just one episode where Nico doesn't go on a long tirade about how 2025 is not the year it was supposed to have been, and this has never happened before, and everyone's a year older and... 😁
In Nigeria’s Delta and Bayelsa states, a man known as Prophet Jeremiah buried his 104-year-old mother in a solid gold casket reportedly worth over $105,000. The ceremony drew crowds of followers, many of whom may never earn that much in their lifetime.

If that was solid gold, it would be worth way, way more than $105,000.
Oh, can I please be in your family at least for Christmas?
#Mozilla’s new CEO: #Firefox will become an “AI browser”

It's sad that the truly open source, free, less corporate browser project is the loser.
I'd say that's drank, but it's a little bit light.
I actually had this exact thing happen.
To all my fellow Gen X out there https://video.nostr.build/6b6d7436445928ff044b4f4ea4252a289139d667f61ea20b9b6d583c07980fd0.mp4
We are so beautiful and they have no idea.
It's awesome isn't it?
So much grumpiness tonight from everybody. 🫎
In my experience, they work really well. I am personally not able to take SSRI's. One time I was given an SSRI during a period of life that I was under extreme stress. I had a somewhat unusual reaction to it... something called serotonin syndrome, which is not a thing I would ever want to do again.
I had to go to the ER to be stabilized. It was scary. They gave me a prescription for eight 0.5mg alprazolams. They were a lifesaver.
That's a giant amount that you have in your hand there. I think those are the one milligrams, too, right?
That's very cool. Super artist.
And I also see da very good dog.
Okay, I recommended an interview w@npub1qg8j6gdwpxlntlxlkew7eu283wzx7hmj32esch42hntdpqdgrslqv024kw a while back because he was even tempered and did a great job explaining his positions on our favorite drama.
And I know everybody should be able to enjoy a little trolling now and then, but shit like this is not helpful.
And in my opinion, Shinobi has been without honor since the beginning of this.
If all you're going to do is character assassination, in childish mockery, then you don't have an argument. And if you're going to present yourself as someone who it purports to understand the other side a little... Well... It's two faced to play scorekeeper for a troll.
In the end, it's "don't trust verify"
and it's don't trust verify all the way down.
That brain cell was about to be recycled... But there we go!
Wait, no. And he calls it the Mac(artney) and Jack(son) wonder potion.
Is this the start of some 80s video that I've forgotten?
Bitcoin Treasury companies can be bad for your wealth. Rugging faster than Memecoins. https://video.nostr.build/8cc72b38155039cf22b159fa372aa5cbc4b1e57359ec10ecb84022d5295465b6.mp4

Wait, somebody tell me I'm wrong, but is that not only Paul McCartney? But also Michael Jackson, Ebony and Ivory, what's going on here?
This is very difficult for me to understand... the reasons for that position. Well, there are really very few, and it's hard for me to imagine someone that I believe understood so well to have come so far from truth.
Oh my. This should be good.

Aha ~35000
I wonder what # I was...
Tried to upload a song. Failed...
Lol thought it was a poll. And picked what I am. 😁 perhaps misunderstood.
A very unpopular opinion: not everybody has cut out for self custody.
Actually Satoshi was also against "diversity of clients".
“I don’t believe a second, compatible implementation of Bitcoin will ever be a good idea. So much of the design depends on all nodes getting exactly identical results in lockstep that a second implementation would be a menace to the network.” ~ (Satoshi Nakamoto).
Now the question is which client.
Pandoras box is open. Too late to close it now.
