But central banks definitely also create money out of thin air, the biggest difference being that they lend it to their governments rather than to the public.

The system that Western "democracies" live under is actually more communist than capitalist. The very existence of a central bank and a government that leverages the money printer to enable massive overreach is the very essence of communism and has no place in capitalism. Income tax also. However, in order to hide these inconvenient facts, we are told that this horribly corrupt fiat system is in fact capitalism and that the solution is communism. This is the spell that the masses live under while they beg for communism, without realising that we should be pushing in the exact opposite direction.
