En route to a gold mining ghost town. More to come.
I love the intellectual creativity on #nostr.
So much better than the established digital ecosystem which seems to be scared silly of #AI and wants everything to be KYC'ed
A human-recognizable name that can be communicated by analog means is the only way to bootstrap trust in the digital world.
That's why kind 0 metatada and nip-05 mapping are so important.
Private shitposting is the way of the future.

If you're not on #nostr, I don't have time to explain it to you on Twitter.
Morning hike along the creek
Once again, pretty chuffed I got #nostr #safebox to do zaps from funds that it is holding. The commandline looks like this
$safebox zap
With #nostr, every event can be monetized by default.
If you can demonstrate control across a domain name (DNS record), domain resource (website) and a kind 0 event with a corresponding nip05 using your npub, you’re pretty much invincible.
In the legacy world, I feel like everyone is fighting for their turf on otherwise-captured platforms that are inevitably co-opted by government.
I don't get that same feeling on #nostr.
Instead, it feels like entirely new territory to try new things without permission.
That's why I am here.
Wondering if anyone else feels the same way?
You alone can decide whether to trust an npub. I think there is a great symbiosis between 'trusted domain names' (nip05) that can help bootstrap the trust in an npub.
We already 'trust' domain names and DNSSEC helps to ensure these domain names can't be spoofed
Similarly, if I trust the nip05 domain name, I can resolve the npub and trust it from that point forward.
Together with nip05 and kind 0 metadata - this is the killer global trust infrastructure we are looking for.

Here is the jsonl file if you want to look at it. Sorry that this is a Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O_jmjQnc0-a-XPSiJhN7xuNE_LPKsTng/view?usp=sharing
I firmly believe this is killer infrastructure - the kind 0 event along with the signed metadata. I can decide if I trust the npub, then it follows that I can trust the metadata, especially nip05 which gives me a trusted link back into the DNS world.

Awesome! I'll wait until I get hotel wifi.
Kind 0 is pretty amazing. It's a global directory of self-signed metadata. If you trust the npub, you can trust the metadata.
