Welcome to the future of #bitcoin self-custody โ„

https://frostsnap.com/demo.mp4

Frostsnap is a mobile-first hardware wallet ๐Ÿ“ฒ

Begin your self-custody journey by plugging Frostsnap devices into your phone and naming them via the Frostsnap app.

Choose a security threshold and begin key generation to easily set up a multisig wallet in a matter of seconds.

In this demo we create a 2-of-3 multisig between the devices. A threshold of two means we need any two of the three devices to sign in order to spend funds from the wallet. โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”’

Daisy-chained Frostsnap devices participate in distributed key generation, each contributing entropy to a joint secret shared across multiple devices.

No single device knows the overall secret, only a fragment.

You, the user, can easily verify the key was created securely โœ…

After creating a new key, you can hide your Frostsnap devices in different locations or share them among people you trust. ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ

When it comes time to make a bitcoin transaction or sign a Nostr post under your Frostsnap key, you must sign on multiple devices.

Frostsnap is crafting a whole new Bitcoin experience,

And we're fixing the problems of self-custody today:

security, accessibility, cost, and privacy.

Frostsnap is making #bitcoin ownership easy, personalized, and secure.

Stay Frosty โ„๏ธ

Wow! Great work. It shows a completely different (and good) setup experience than normal multisig.

Of course many challenges remain, like preshared nonces.

I wonder if this setup could be done without a cellphone to keep everything airgapped?

Bitkey

BDK is working on Compact Block Filters (CBF), which elevates the need to run an own electrum server. Once CBF is in BDK it will be the default in https://github.com/andreasgriffin/bitcoin-safe

Good morning. Non stop working on an easy Bitcoin (multisig) wallet without foot guns and wallet setup tutorial.

Heavily working on UX for a better wallet experience:

Heavily working on UX for a better wallet experience:

I think a display on the signer to verify the address and the fee is crucial to reduce the trust in the wallet software.

I hope the lack of a display doesn't invite some of the possible attacks in the future.

I don't mean to alarm anyone but someone just wrote a sha256 function for bitvm:

https://techmix.github.io/tapleaf-circuits/

I think this means we can validate merkle proofs now...which means we can also do 2WP sidechains now

๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Could OP_VAULT be recreated with bitvm?
