What's worse is it creates fear of leaving even though there is no connection. Narcissistic abuse traps us with an invisible partner that's never actually available. Leaving is painful even when we see the truth. It requires self compassion and kindness. Give it to yourself. #grownostr
We often shame or judge ourselves for grieving the loss of a relationship with a narcissist.
The reality is there are many layers of grief for us, even if it was all fake or a setup for them.
Allow yourself to grieve in all the ways. Allow all the emotions to surface.
Most importantly, allow yourself the kindness and compassion that you offer everyone else.

Narcissists do bad things and that’s pretty obvious. What we don’t always pay as much attention to is who they are “being”. It doesn’t feel right when they do good things because it’s not genuine. They do everything they do for themselves to get something. It doesn’t feel like they care about anyone else, because they don’t actually care about anyone else.

Narcissists target their victims and attack them in private where no one else will see it. If it's done in public it will be done quietly so no one else sees the attack. They continue to show their shiny exterior to everyone else to hide who they truly are. Even if no one else saw it, it still happened!

Staying busy does not help us to heal from the abuse we went through. It may help us to feel less bad for a time, but we must do the work in order to actually feel better long term. We can’t avoid or go around the healing process, we must face it and walk through it.
