I went for a run at the high-school track and as I was leaving I dropped my ear bud in the dark grass!
No phone on me, so I was trying to feel around for it. Then someone asked if I needed help, then another, and another. After 5 phone flashlights were on we found it in a few minutes!
I'm so grateful to have such nice people in my community willing to offer help when they see a person in need.
Next time you see someone in need in your community offer to help. We are all social being, serving others is how our brains are setup and it infectious and feels great!

A few things from the garden. The potatoes came from planting one of the grocery store potatoes. It sprouted in the paqntry so we put it in the dirt and Voila. Also yellow zuchinni and purple basil and swiss chard. #harvest #pow #homestead

Great idea with the monk fruit to reduce the sugar.
We make grape jelly, apple jam every year with our harvests. I'll have to give this a try to help reduce the amount of sugar we usually use. It's insane how much sugar it takes to make standard jelly/jam..
It's how I spent summers growing up as a kid. 😃
While fireside and under the stars I was reflecting about what I want for the kids. It was more of this, quality time as a family, discovering nature, lots of adventures and play. We left the ipads and video games at home. They found so many creative ways to play around camp, they founds toads and frogs and made up a bunch of imaginary games wherever we went. We all slept well with the fresh air after a day spent hiking, fishing, exploring.
So I bought the dip to secure more of these camping trips for our family.

Beautiful sunset to end our week in the stix. It's rejuvenating to disconnect from work and your phone and get lost in nature.
We had a canoe trip and had to portage over a dam to get to a empty beach for a picnic. It was the kids first canoe trip and they loved it. They paddled for most of it. They've passed the test and are ready for portaging in the backcountry.
