More about Hungarians 🇭🇺 and Hungary...🇭🇺
Hungary was much larger until after the First World War, until the Verailles (Trianon) peace decree (the yellow part of the map).
In 1920 approx. 2/3 of our country was taken from us (the remaining green is Hungary now). At that time a huge part of Romania was Hungary (including the whole Transylvania, you may know it from Dracula movies).
And Poland (on the map: Lengyelország) was still on our northeastern border, and Ukraine was still a non-existent country. Now a part of Hungary belongs to Ukraine (called Lower Carpathians). So the Hungarians there are also affected by the war.
Many people still consider the old Hungary as Hungary.
