Bitcoin and Liberty

Is often easier to reach someone who only casually knows you than the people closest to you.

The people closest to you know your flaws and know your mistakes. They choose to associate with you anyway, and that's incredibly important on a human level. But, it makes it easier for them to dismiss your ideas, whether they mean to or not.

Sometimes all you can do is plant the seed and wait for someone or something else to water it.

Soon enough the terrible decisions of the Central Banks and their partner States will become inescapably obvious to everyone. Once they can no longer live in denial, they'll so throughly panic that the faith-based monetary systems will start to crumble.

I think most people currently on nostr realize that. I think that knowledge is at least a part of why many people are here: to help build and be a part of the solution (for whatever their individual reasons).

That being said, during the period of panic and the subsequent poor policies that will be inacted to save the irrevocably broken fiat system and the corporate State structure built upon it, it's going to be incredibly important for people to have real life connections with others.

At the moment, nostr is way too much fun. But let's not forget to "touch grass" and hang out in the physical space with other human beings.

Oh, and plant a garden. And, if you're in a jurisdiction that allows it (or not) spend some quality time at the range. Things might get a little tricky to navigate for awhile. Better to be prepared and have some skills than to be caught without.

Okay, that was my serious moment for the day. If you've read this far, thanks for the time. Carry on.

I was kind of hoping for a bigger drop. This is a hard stacking year for me and, frankly, I enjoy good BTC sale prices.

Ah well...

I have the feeling that we're going to be seeing a lot of news about Silvergate as a "contagion" for awhile.

I keep finding myself unsure about what to post. It's taken me a few days to figure out why but I think I've got it: I'm so accustomed to having to bicker and fight on any from of social media post I make that I have forgotten how to just "be" on the internet.

I'm working on it. I really don't want to fight here. It's a good kind of weird.

I have two of the three (though not enough of either) and m working on the third.

I believe in freedom of association, which is not forced association. There's a fundamental difference in choosing what I consume and attempting to silence what I disagree with.

I'm also seeing massive disruptions in my industry. I'm a locksmith and for a couple of years I've been having what seems to be an increasingly difficult time getting hardware for customers.

Everything from door hardware to lock cylinders to transponder keys for vehicles have been difficult to reliably buy.

I've had businesses operate outside of regulatory compliance for weeks or more simply because my distributors are waitlisting everything I need to bring them back to code.

From what I can tell, during the lockdowns a lot of manufacturers, for various imposed reasons, simply could not survive. Those with big enough name recognition were, either voluntarily or otherwise, forced to consolidate. At scale, those consolidations seem to not be going smoothly.

This seems to be worsened by the distributors also consolidating.

I'm having a hard time getting anything and what I do get has massive QC issues.

It's... fun.

"What are the best ways to buy btc?"

It's a question I get from time to time. I was thinking about it and realized that I honestly don't know what the best ways are.

I mean, it's easy to convert fiat to btc (always a good deal), but that doesn't mean any of those ways are good.

I'd like to thank everyone (human our bot) who have zapped me. Due to life circumstances, it'll be a couple more weeks before I can fund my lightening wallet and without those zaps I couldn't enjoy zapping others right now..

You're all rock stars.

As someone in the old trades (locksmith in my case) I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the work of all of the glorious and innovative devs that are working so tirelessly toward securing my wealth with bitcoin and my freedom of speech with nostr.

Also, all of you econ analysts out there, you rock.

And for you memesters, keep making those hilarious jokes.

All in all, I'm grateful that there's a "here" for me to be.
