if i can pick a time frame, i wanna go back to the hippies era and just chill
He mastered various martial arts techniques, including his master's kung fu, karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and boxing, then crafted his own kung fu style.
And because Kung fu was unknown in the US, he mastered karate - became the national champion - just so that he can generate publicity for his kung fu training school, and he did.
When Hollywood refused the lead role, he went to Hong Kong, made blockbusters, and Hollywood begged him to return.
Dude also runs 10km every morning. And dang, that bod
brushing up on South East Asia's history - this part on Indonesia. Indonesia has had both US and Soviet interest from the Cold war days. Both CIA and KGB tried to extend their influence - one way was funding the rebels (excerpt below). In another story, apparently Sukarno, the first president of Indonesia was known for his womenising behaviors, and CIA and KGB both tried to threaten to expose his sexual videos. Legend has it he responded, asking for extra copies instead. He was eventually ousted for a more pro democratic president Suharto.
Fast forward to today, Indonesia is still a big attraction to the US and Russia - but this time through currency trade war. At the same time, Jokowi is seen as global peacemaker. I think the growing nature of Bitcoin in Indonesia would be a great position to spread Bitcoin and peace through global trade.

Friends, I'm excited to say that I'll be joining the Financial Freedom team at HRF!✨ (Human Rights Foundation).
As you know, for the last year I've been telling stories about marginalized communities in search of financial freedom via my newsletter, Notes From The Margin. With HRF, I'll have the opportunity to continue to tell these stories (and more), highlight Bitcoin’s power in liberating lives, and in transforming repressed societies… But also telling them truthfully, with their flaws and victories, because there is much to learn, to fix, and to build.
This has been a labour of love that will continue on, but now alongside the dream team that is nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu , nostr:npub1cf3zeytdnwgwzz5pk2ax0vvmmlzad03xcft4d50ejrfhsh8pxcdsefx7gknostr:npub1wlkfvm7dvnusz9fv44wuwucu0jp3lc3wqt36ax0lz33hukjga7wq6hqwhy , and Alex Li. I can only imagine what we will accomplish together at the intersection of #Bitcoin and #humanrights in the next year+! I'll keep you posted on key projects and events so please watch this space.
Feeling grateful, blessed, and humbled. Counting my blessings today. 🧡
Congratulations Ayelen! I love how your passion and love for the world is shown through your writings and I am sure this is a great path to many good things ahead.
it's definitely more vibrant today. surely plenty of bumps along the way but love the joy you are bringing

If you haven't given it a listen, you should!
We have interviews with nostr:nprofile1qqs8d3c64cayj8canmky0jap0c3fekjpzwsthdhx4cthd4my8c5u47spremhxue69uhkummnw3ez6ur4vgh8wetvd3hhyer9wghxuet59uqs6amnwvaz7tmzwf3zu6t09uq3wamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwdehhxarj9e5kuen09uwm2xkq , nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gpremhxue69uhkummnw3ez6ur4vgh8wetvd3hhyer9wghxuet59uq3jamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwdehhxarjv96xjtnrdakj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7f5uxyd , nostr:nprofile1qqs8nsk2uy2w529fs8n4tx60u7z553e4yx5dy2nxhw4elgjgawpqlaspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43z7qg6waehxw309aex2mrp0yh8x6rfw3nx7unrv5hx7mn99uq3kamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wvdhkjmnxw4hxg6t59e3k7mf0m4t092 , and Alex Pacheco — none of whom are Christians. We also read great books on the problems and possible solutions to social media, including The Shallows and Digital Liturgies.
The goal is to be a resource for deep, rooted — and yes, Christian — thinking that the nostr community can draw on to design more human, and more soulful social media products.
Next on my list, can't wait!
In terms of user curation - i am guessing might include posts of people you want to see + topics of interest + responses of those you follow + hot topics etc. And lesser ‘too many at one go’ post.
For example, I like hacker news, but in most of my sporadic visits of nostr I only read hacker news. Today I have a bit more time this morning so I am chilling here on nostr =) but gotta hit the road soon!
I don’t know if something like gamification might make user curation fun, or temporary excitement - or temp excitement might turn it into a habit. but making user curation a practice is a big win for society.
In terms of visibility of content and replies, the previous twitter was not too bad as you can curate it yourself. For nostr, maybe coracle is more dynamic than the rest, not too static – it’s a bit more fun but limited content per frame. And I also don’t get to choose the content I want to see. I don’t know if there is there is any one I can point out to.
i think making the most of what we already have goes a long way. content has both notes and replies and maximising both is high value. But not splatting it like a labyrinth. Also making user curation of their feed fun might improve how users wants their own algo set up - and this might improve content visibility.
are we moving towards the era of everyone having their own lightning nodes?
I don't know the in and outs of fedimint or all the layers and the dramas behind it (i will get to the bottom of this eventually) - but I just want to point that this is a really great write up. Tech write ups should follow the footsteps of Nostr Design and this.
thanks for sharing! I was thinking of the 1:1 exchange as well. I took a cursory glance, will go through in detail - but just very quickly, very well written explanation.
lol, woohoo!
maybe you can explain why it doesn't use its own currency to buy and sell, based on the technical details / technical papers - not "its not, because I say so"
lightning doesn't have its own currency and just a mode of transfer.
doesn't matter how its framed - just going back to basic - if its using any other currency other than bitcoin to buy and sell any goods and services, then its not circulating bitcoin.
I don’t know enough about the workings of chaumian ecash to comment. From what I understand it is not a token in the sense that you refer to it as. But I could be wrong. Will wait on nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg to explain.
ok, agreed. I think there are a lot of fancy terms for it but just going back to the basic, if you don't transact with bitcoin, then you are not circulating bitcoin. but yea, let's wait for calle. i hope something good comes out of this.
the concept of privacy is great, but using tokens as its own currency to buy and sell under the umbrella of bitcoin is a no go. Economics 101 - you want to talk about both absolute value and circulation. And its not like it can't get rug pulled - any other "token" can come in, hype the crap out of people and screw them over.
Money is based on on what people trust and as commodity circulation. At present Bitcoin is based on pump and dump.
If we want Bitcoin to become the global money reserve, internet currency, the dependable backbone for every body - then we must retain the use of bitcoin and bitcoin only - not a variety of token currency. And bitcoin must be integrated in as many places to be used to buy and sell goods and services. not token currency.
Calle is super smart, and very passionate about privacy which is great. I hope token currency is eliminated and there are diff ways to go about this.
yes, i get that. but only initial absolute purchase is with bitcoin. the circulation is with a different currency which are the tokens. its your altcoin version in bitcoin. and this is very damaging - this is how you trojan horse the altcoin version into bitcoin. You don't want 300 different tokens that people use globally to buy and sell and wonder why bitcoin circulation is not picking up.
