nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn should apply for a gov grant - its easy - just tell them you are working on a decentralized communications protocol that includes providing a free space for folks to discuss CLIMATE CHANGE.

BOOM! $10 million !

lol, Mike Dilger did say he should have called gossip model something else like the climate model just for the fun of it - it would have been really funny how that could have turned out - nostr would be on main stream media everyday

well, that's an interesting strategy, its quite funny how we run experiments around Jack so casually here lol. i guess big relays can do it out of goodwill for a certain period but might be tough to convince all.

Anyone reached out to nostr:npub1nlk894teh248w2heuu0x8z6jjg2hyxkwdc8cxgrjtm9lnamlskcsghjm9c ? She runs nos.lol and nostr.mom and has also patiently answered all my stupid tech question over the year. I am guessing she might be game as she likes to try new things. But you guys might be better off talking to each other - I'll be the connector. If nostr:npub1nlk894teh248w2heuu0x8z6jjg2hyxkwdc8cxgrjtm9lnamlskcsghjm9c is game, then let's try speaking to another big relay player after this.

why? Jack doesn't have bad intentions here, he is just trying to spread various small relays. Doesn't matter what he selects, and that's the point of gossip model. He is just trying to help in whichever way he can, that's all. For all we know he might rotate every week for the fun of it.

We should promote small relays, we should promote all relays, we should encourage everyone to have their own relays, we can create various entrepreneurship gigs through relays as its a simple gateway between human and connectivity.

The point i was trying to make is, to not limit ourselves.

this is like a little piece of heaven on earth and a perfect activity for this hot weather

There will be people who will come here and say it will never work. And when we are at a low, they will say "i told you so".

Ignore the small minded people. Ignore the negativity.

Those who see you having problem - and decide to bitch about you instead of helping you - can go fuck them themselves.

i think for a period of time, many will come, many will leave but everytime a wave rides in, very few, maybe only 10% of users, will stay back.

These are the early adopters. They think different, they could be part of innovators, contributors or some form of builders. They will bring unique values - and the build gets better and better.

Someday when we look back, we can see the pattern but for now its messy, we have highs and lows.

There will be people who will come here and say it will never work. And when we are at a low, they will say "i told you so".

Ignore the small minded people. Ignore the negativity.

Those who see you having problem - and decide to bitch about you instead of helping you - can go fuck them themselves.

What matters is - there is a need for this, and there are many things we have not done, to throw in the towel so quickly.

There are millions of dollars of funds into this, as a collective. I can't possibly explain how exhausted I am day in day out working through multiple jobs and dealing with so much stress - and how privileged creators are here and yet i see so many whining that things are not perfect. Omg lol.

No matter who you are, you need to want something so badly to make it work.

Because when you build something, you will realise nothing will go as you plan.

You will want to scrap through every opportunity you can find, learn every single shit, take any chances you can get. Its those who can ride the wave, find opportunities in the midst of adversities who will survive and thrive.

Honestly, we are ok. But we could be better problem solvers and creative thinkers. And complain lesser.

Coracle has super sharp vision - we just can't see it yet. If i had money and nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn is looking for investor, i would totally put my money there lol. It will be the first I will invest in, purely for the vision he has, his build towards it and potential for growth.

I was just thinking the other day that he is very artsy and goes deep into the creative world. It would be kinda awesome if he does a Karl Langerfield version of immersive fashion experience.

Yea, unfortunately blastr is commie / socialism style. It removes what makes individual relays special.

It's probably like your cheaper, lower end version of gossip translation - easy to implement, but comes with many setbacks. I presume the tasteful version takes time.

I don’t know enough but I reckon even with simple storage, arduino and basic programming everyone can have a relay. I think we should move towards more relays but it comes with educating users on relays. At some point this can also be a gig economy for crowd. Creativity and opportunity is endless, esp when you have funds.

Coracle is def doing a lot more extra, thanks for taking the time to explain nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn

And that's a great way to go about it - but right now all we are creating is cancel culture towards big relays while advocating fair chance towards small relays. That's AA.

What we could do is highlight what makes these small relay players special.

There are hundreds of relays I presume ? How are people selecting them ? based on features like wine provides? based on time taken ? based on trust not to get blasted ? based on connectivity and strength ? based on recommendation? based on who runs it and confidence level ? based on you just feeling good supporting smaller relays? private ? communities? localisation? topics based? language based?

All these are great reasons - and we should put it out there for users and let users decide.

Problems often leads to solutions - and if there is money, one can do a lot more and lot faster.

I just think we should not box ourselves in.

(PS : huge respect for all of you and the work you are doing - this is not personal, just a discussion on the topic)

Is it tho? Some centralised relays like lol has been self funded and continually improve its spam filters etc over the year and picked up on adoption, purely by merits. We seem to be passing some AA clause that merits don’t matter.

If we want relay players to have fair chance in growing their business, then it’s not abt decapitating the big players - but finding ways to enable small relays to be more accessible, selectable, and have a fair chance in the game.

The problem was that gossip was great theoretically but execution strategy was open to various interpretation. And some went for quick fixes.

But if go one level further on what the problem is - then the problem is relay discoverability and adoption . If we look from this angle, this now opens up many more solutions on getting diverse relays out there.

i think if there is funds and creators, then we should not limit everyone into a tiny box and force them to come up with solutions

Maybe general incentivization of innovation of relays would encourage positive defiance in finding find opportunities in the midst of adversities. These innovations can span from data process like gossip, outbox etc, marketability, accessibility, individual relay adoption through simple HWs etc.

When it comes to innovations its not just creation but also user adoption that makes it valuable and sustainable, hence all of those could be the factors that become bounty qualifiers.

awww congratulations ❤️🫂the booties are adorable. hope momma and baby are both ok

water it, give it sunshine and lots of space to grow. Put 'em on display and it is only a matter of time it withers.
