Low status fiat heretic. Often wrong. 2 + 2 = 4

Omfg, a recruiter for Ripple just sent me a message telling me they're valued at $15bn 🀣 Linked to an article that says the valuation was based on their own stock buyback ... Jfc, pathological scammers.

Busy reading some Parker Lewis stuff. He makes the obvious, but deep, point that money is the most important good because it allows us to coordinate all other economic action. As the money breaks, so does our ability to do everything else.

Fix the money, fix the world.

Things that use a lot of energy:

- growing food

- keeping warm

- building homes

- transport

- hospitals

- sound money (#bitcoin)

A thesis I've been working on:

Money is the most important good. Bitcoin is the best money.

Good morning. The government steals your money, and then misspends it.

robosats πŸ€– is amazing. Main issue is liquidity, and probably anonymity set of ensuring patterns look more confusing to banks facilitating the fiat payments.

solution is for more people to use - should be a daily routine to buy and/or sell a small amount of sats. This is part of how we win.

bonus: you can currently sell sats at a premium

This is excellent, Freddie.

A couple of things I would have added:

1. KYC is not only a burden, its also ineffective at its purported use case - there is limited evidence of it preventing serious crimes. Not only that, the largest criminals (e.g. Jho Low and the 1MDB scandal) are not stopped by it. Even smaller more resourceful criminals easily fool the most sophisticated identity verification technology providers regularly.

2. Persons with protected characteristics are certainly at risk. The UK only fully legalized male homosexuality in 1982. We've made progress since then, but there is no guarantee that the government of the day would adhere to non-discrimation. Giving authorities far more powerful and wider-reaching tools is a terrifying risk with the abuse that is possible.

Biden won't run. He's letting Kennedy et al. spend all their resources without damaging whoever he, and the DNC, will ultimately annoint.

Lol, I dont care about politics but had to put this out there so I can congratulate myself later if I'm right πŸ˜‚

Most would disagree. What's your take on why they were the bad guys? Surely you're not also saying that the Nazis were the good guys?

Dear Ledger - native bitcoin multisig = selling more devices ;)

Wait a sec ... so AI is so powerful it could be an existential risk to human life, but not powerful enough to generate new unique iris images to trick the orb?

Yeah okay

I found that moment pretty strange too, and was surprised NVK didn't rebuff it better. As far as I know there haven't been any software wallet thefts - doesn't make them 100% safe, but that's the logic Ledger CEO was using.

How could Blue Wallet etc. be as good as gone? Maybe if an attacker had your phone, and your unlock code. Fair enough. But many software wallets also enable biometric unlocking, so then need a wrench attack ... and how is that different from a typical Ledger wallet wrench attack?
