One of my favorite books is Neil Stephenson's Snowcrash.
It's a bit dated, (90s Internet nerd sci-fi fantasy), but one of the most notable details in the story is that the world has become so anarchist that the US federal govt is pretty much irrelevant. They still exist, but nobody really gives a shit.

Democrats are going to lose Senate seats in West Virginia and Montana. Their Senate majority will be lost with them.
Even if Harris manages to take the WH, she will be able to do very little with it.
Congress will not pass any legislation that she wants to get done.
Any unconstitutional executive actions will be challenged in the Supreme Court and overturned by a 6-3 majority.
This is the best Democrats can hope for. If Harris loses the WH then Republicans will control all three branches of government.
