Is batoning firewood in a survival situation a thing? Sawing the logs into neat equal lengths?
Do not ever use a knife to split firewood. Never.
A good way to damage the knife and so lose your most important tool in survival.
A knife is used to cut.
Burn the log from the end or middle. Don't waste calories sawing them. Choose the firewood and tender carefully so splitting it is not needed.
Learn the art of making a fire. Stop watching YouTube for survival training.
