I do use Nostr now more than I used to.
I like this trend.
The revolutionary aspect of Nostr lies in its fundamental shift from the traditional internet model where users are required to visit and register with various services.
With Nostr, the dynamic is flipped: services and applications now adapt to users, not the other way around.
This means users can maintain their identity and data across different platforms without the need to create new accounts, offering a level of freedom and control that's been largely absent in the digital world for the past quarter-century.
Bitcoin can't be banned, hacked, or the ledger altered.
The only way for Bitcoin to be controlled or "locked up" as you put it, is if "they" destroy the power grid and internet in entirety.
Even then Bitcoin is resilient against those types of attacks.
The entire world is totally fucked if you look at it through the lens of traditional finance.
But if you look at the everything through a #bitcoin standard, the future looks bright.

There's approximately $40T in retirement funds looking for 2-4% of their portfolio exposure to #bitcoin.
I'm still uncertain about weither or not the ETF's are a good thing or a bad thing for the Crypto/Bitcoin ecosystem.
Time will tell.

I haven't personally contributed directly to the technical development to the Nostr protocol however I am committed to it's success.
There's over 270 pull requests on the Nostr GitHub repository and I was poking around in there yesterday just to learn more about how it all works. I had a thought about how there is a bounty out for recreating GitHub on the Nostr Protocol and it got me thinking about "Zaps" and how to revolutionize the incentive structure of open source software development by directly funding contributions to the source code through tipping sats directly to nsec wallet addresses of those contributors.
The amount of potential this creates is difficult for most people to even conceptualize.
