Regarding passion project: Maybe it is time to introduce a premium tier? You should definitely be able to live from this project and I am 100% sure it is possible. I have created and reviewd business models for many clients with way worse products that still turned out to be successful. Damus is already way ahead of a MVP. You can always use your own domain for a nip-05 identification. Actually it’s the preferred way and makes much more sense to me.

I think current state of science is that good masks can both protects yourself and others to a varying degree and if used correctly. Of course I agree that we can't and shouldn't wear them all the time. "All freedom comes with risk", I like that sentence!
Personally, I wear a mask for example when I am sick and need to take public transport or have to wait at the doctor's. Especially in a waiting room, full of coughin people, it also makes sense to wear a mask for self protection. I don't want to go there with a hurting leg and come back with a nasty virus! 😷

Some clients do this automatically, they try to find out which relays are used by the ones you follow and connect to them read-only. Then you don’t have to add them manually!
Otherwise relays would become more and more centralised over time, if everyone is forced to use the same relays.

Okay, I thought you are talking about N95 or FFP2, they are quite effective, reducing transmission risk of most airborne viruses by about 80%.
Actually they do work, this „small particle“ argument is wrong because most viruses survive in small waterdrops that are large enough to be filtered by masks. I thought after 3 years this is common knowledge…

Haha, you are right, that explains it. Although in fact it does not make much sense to let the network split. Maybe a bit like the internet, it can split when there is a major outage, or it might be considered splitted in China, but in the end it is "The Internet". I don't get it why you think the word "network" is a false premise. There are many networks out there, which are just graphs of relations between nodes, this is in fact a possible definition of the word "network". Do you propose not to use the word "Lightning Network"? How does it help?
