The Aksum obelisks are 4th century tall granite monolithic stone pillars located in the ancient city of Aksum, which was the capital of the Aksumite Empire in what is now Ethiopia. The Aksumite Empire thrived from approximately the 1st century AD to the 7th century AD and played a significant role in the region's history and culture.

Some of the obelisks are intricately carved with decorative motifs and inscriptions, many of which are written in Ge'ez, an ancient Semitic language that is still used in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church liturgy.

One of the most famous obelisks is the Great Stele, also known as the Obelisk of Axum, which stood at a towering height of over 78 feet (24 meters) before it fell and broke into several pieces. Efforts to preserve and restore the fallen obelisks have been ongoing, and some have been re-erected, contributing to the preservation of Aksum's cultural heritage.

Aksum archaeological site has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band known for their harmonious blend of rock, pop, soul, and country sounds, with a touch of funk and jazz.
Formed in 1970 in San Jose, California, the band initially centered around guitarist Tom Johnston’s gritty vocals and Pat Simmons' smooth harmonies. Their early music was driven by Johnston’s upbeat, guitar-heavy rock, with hits like "Listen to the Music," "China Grove," and "Long Train Runnin’." These songs quickly became classics, capturing the laid-back yet energetic spirit of early '70s rock.
In 1975, health issues forced Johnston to reduce his role, leading the band to bring in Michael McDonald as a lead vocalist and keyboardist. McDonald's distinctive voice and blue-eyed soul influence shifted the band’s style, taking them in a new direction. Under his guidance, they produced hit songs like "What a Fool Believes," "Minute by Minute," and "Takin’ It to the Streets." This era saw the Doobie Brothers embrace a smoother, R&B-infused sound, broadening their appeal and earning them two Grammy Awards.
The Doobie Brothers went through several lineup changes over the years, and in the early 1980s, the band briefly disbanded. However, they reunited in 1987 with Johnston and Simmons once again leading, producing more hits and touring extensively. Their ability to reinvent themselves while staying true to their original style has kept them relevant across decades, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
With over 50 million albums sold worldwide, the Doobie Brothers remain iconic for their ability to bridge multiple genres and deliver timeless hits. Their live performances, often featuring multiple guitarists and layered harmonies, continue to draw dedicated fans. Their music not only showcases impressive instrumental work and harmonies but also captures the era-defining sounds that keep their songs resonant today.

Inside the Great Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel, a row of statues stands along each side of the inner hall, with each figure depicting Ramses II himself.
These statues, about 6 meters tall, are carved from the rock and positioned in a standing posture with their arms crossed over their chests, symbolizing the pharaoh's strength and authority.
The statues line the walls in a symmetrical manner, creating a striking visual effect as they guard the entrance to the sanctuary.
This arrangement underscores Ramses II's divine status and his connection to the gods, reinforcing his monumental legacy within the temple.

David Gilmour, born on March 6, 1946, in Cambridge, England, is celebrated as the guitarist, vocalist, and one of the creative forces behind the legendary band Pink Floyd. Known for his soulful guitar solos, atmospheric soundscapes, and ethereal voice, Gilmour helped define Pink Floyd’s sound and direction, particularly through their iconic albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall.
Gilmour joined Pink Floyd in 1968, initially as a supporting guitarist and vocalist alongside founding member Syd Barrett, who was struggling with mental health issues. When Barrett left, Gilmour became a central figure in the band, working closely with Roger Waters to drive their progressive, often experimental music. His emotive guitar work on songs like "Comfortably Numb," "Time," and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" remains some of the most revered in rock history, characterized by its haunting melodies, expressive bends, and smooth phrasing.
Beyond his guitar prowess, Gilmour’s songwriting and production work were vital to Pink Floyd’s evolution. As tensions grew within the band, particularly between Gilmour and Waters, Gilmour continued as the band’s leader after Waters’ departure in 1985. He led Pink Floyd through two more albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994), both of which were well-received and kept the Pink Floyd legacy alive for a new generation of fans.
Gilmour has also enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing albums like David Gilmour (1978), About Face (1984), On an Island (2006), and Rattle That Lock (2015), which showcase his introspective songwriting and timeless guitar work. Throughout his career, David Gilmour has been celebrated as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, with a signature tone that’s instantly recognizable and a style that continues to inspire musicians and fans around the world.

Palm sugar is a sweetener derived from any variety of palm tree. Palm sugar is sometimes qualified by the type of palm, as in coconut palm sugar. You could substitute it with brown sugar.
