"So many times I've photographed stories that show the degradation of the planet. I had one idea to go and photograph the factories that were polluting, and to see all the deposits of garbage. But, in the end, I thought the only way to give us an incentive, to bring hope, is to show the pictures of the pristine planet - to see the innocence."

Rare Historical Photos of Computer Ads.
Vintage computer ads that show how far we’ve progressed, 1970-1990.
It’s quite fascinating to read the vintage magazine adverts because nothing gets old faster than technology news and ads.

In this article, we’ve collected some retro computer ads to give you a hands-on look into what made the tech headlines before the age of smartphones, tablets, and high-end laptops. It’s amazing how far we’ve come.

Do you know that your phone already has way more processing power than all the Apollo 11 computers in the Lunar Lander that put humankind on the moon? Do you know that the first HDD introduced in 1979 by Seagate was only 5 MB and was priced at $1500 USD?

Browsing these vintage computer advertisements can really showcase some of these changes, from the 1950s when huge computers were just for industrial and business users to the days when they became ubiquitous for the average consumer.

The computers produced and marketed during the 1980s only helped to increase the popularity of these convenient pieces of equipment throughout the decade and beyond.

By the time the 1980s came to an end, it was unusual for a household to be without a personal computer. People were using them to play games and many other things, such as talking with others in the office network and other business-related applications.
The computers during the 1980s also became more attractive and user-friendly as more and more people were buying them.
In 1982, the Commodore 64 took the nation by storm because of its price and the new capabilities that it offered. In addition to its unheard-of $400 price tag (which was inexpensive for a personal computer at the time), it also had 64 Kb of RAM.

This amount of RAM far surpassed any of the previous models and it was one of the major selling points that made this personal computer system one of the best-selling models of all time.

Even 10 years after it was first introduced, the 22 million units of the Commodore 64 that were sold have been unmatched by any other single computer model.

In 1984, the Apple Macintosh made its appearance in the personal computer market. For $2500, computer users could own an Apple Macintosh that had several added features than the computers from the previous decade.
Introduced in a commercial during the 1984 Super Bowl, the Apple MacIntosh quickly became popular with its 128 Kb of Ram and its already installed 3.5” floppy disk drive.
Users were delighted to use unique MacIntosh programs, including MacWrite (for word processing), Aldus PageMaker (for desktop publishing), and the MacPaint program (ideal for editing images). The MacPaint program also showed users the importance of using a mouse with a personal computer.

In addition to these capabilities, the Apple Laser Printer quickly became the preferred printer of choice for computer owners of all brands.
The 1980s provided an ideal bridge between the beginning of the personal computer revolution in the 1970s and the flourishing of computers during the 1990s.
Computer companies during the 80s took risks to help create more convenient models with increasing capabilities that everybody could take advantage of.

As a result of their technology design and hard work, the following decade was able to become what many refer to as “The Age of Personal Computers.”

Home computers were usually sold already manufactured in stylish metal or plastic enclosures. However, some home computers also came as commercial electronic kits like the Sinclair ZX80 which were both home and home-built computers since the purchaser could assemble the unit from a kit.

Advertisements in the popular press for early home computers were rife with possibilities for their practical use in the home, from cataloging recipes to personal finance to home automation, but these were seldom realized in practice.
For example, using a typical 1980s home computer as a home automation appliance would require the computer to be kept powered on at all times and dedicated to this task. Personal finance and database use required tedious data entry.
vintage computer adsBy contrast, advertisements in the specialty computer press often simply listed specifications, assuming a knowledgeable user who already had applications in mind.
If no packaged software was available for a particular application, the home computer user could program one—provided they had invested the requisite hours to learn computer programming, as well as the idiosyncrasies of their system.
Since most systems arrived with the BASIC programming language included on the system ROM, it was easy for users to get started creating their own simple applications.

Many users found programming to be a fun and rewarding experience, and an excellent introduction to the world of digital technology.

#ArtnetNews: In 1845, an Englishman named Austen Henry Layard set out from Constantinople in search of Nineveh, the last capital of the Assyrian Empire. He was 28 years old, held no formal training in archaeology, and, having failed to convince the British Museum of the expedition’s merits, was short of funds.

This would soon change. Four years later, when Layard published a richly illustrated account of his work in Nineveh, he stirred the Victorian public’s imagination with his depictions of the biblical city which led to nearly a century of well-funded excavations—hence the British Museum’s peerless collection of artifacts from the city.

Here are 10 key lessons from "The Organized Mind: Thinking Straight in the Age of Information Overload" by Daniel J. Levitin:
1. The brain has limited attentional capacity
We can only focus on a small number of things at once. Multitasking reduces productivity and increases errors.
2. Externalize information
Use lists, calendars, and systems to store information outside your brain, freeing mental space for problem-solving and creativity.
3. Organize by category, not location
Our brains retrieve information more efficiently when it’s organized by context or function, not by where we last saw it.
4. Prioritize decision-making
Make important decisions when your brain is fresh—usually early in the day. Too many choices lead to decision fatigue.
5. Declutter your environment
A messy space increases cognitive load. A tidy, organized environment helps you think more clearly and reduces stress.
6. Chunking improves memory
Grouping information into meaningful chunks helps you retain more. It’s how phone numbers and addresses are remembered more easily.
7. Sleep is essential for organizing thoughts
Sleep strengthens memory and helps the brain consolidate and integrate new information.
8. Use the “default mode network”
Daydreaming and downtime help with creativity and problem-solving. Mental rest is as important as focused work.
9. Filter incoming information
Not all information is valuable. Learn to filter out distractions—news, emails, notifications—to protect your focus.
10. Make use of specialized brain systems
Your brain has systems for attention, memory, and categorization. Use tools and habits that align with these natural strengths.

30 Emergency Preparedness Items You Forgot To Get.
Have you ever heard the saying, “ The Devil is in the details?” Well, this applies to emergency preparedness and preppers just as it does everyone else, and in this article that is especially true as it pertains to gear and supplies.
It’s easy to make sure you have the “big” items within your emergency gear because those items are talked about and featured a lot. Items like water, food, shelter, knives, chopping tools, weapons, and some first aid supplies.
But there are a lot of “smaller” items, the details if you will, that make up the bulk of an emergency kit or bug-out bag. Many of these items may not be as cool or as fun as other popular items, which is why they aren’t discussed much and therefore easily forgotten about.
However, make no mistake that these unpopular items are incredibly important and sometimes even critical to have. So, in order to help you not forget about them we’ve gone ahead and put together a list of items to have in your emergency kit that are too important to forget.
30 Items Not To Forget
The items below are not listed in any order of importance.
1. Aluminum Foil
Aluminum foil may seem like an odd thing to pack in your kit but it can be used for all sorts of stuff. Examples include cooking, making a solar oven, a signaling device, and a fishing lure.
2. Bandana
A simple bandanna square is an easily overlooked item, especially by those who don’t normally wear one. However, this small piece of fabric packs a punch in the versatility department. It can be used as a signaling device, water filter, water collector, bandage, and fire tinder, just to name a few examples.

3. Battery Tester
BATTERY TESTER
Almost all of us store extra batteries in our kits to power the numerous devices and gadgets we have, but many of us probably don’t have a way to test how good those batteries are. A small battery tester can save you a lot of frustration.
4. Candles
Some people absolutely hate the idea of candles in emergency kits due to the risk of fire so they have become less common to stock up on. But batteries and emergency lights will fail at some point. Candles, even small tea candles will provide some ambient light.
5. Cash
Yes, most of us probably know that it’s a good idea to have some emergency cash on hand in case banks or other electronic payment methods aren’t available. But the important thing to remember is to keep the majority of the cash in smaller bills and not in fifties and hundreds. Many people also like to keep several rolls of coins on hand as well.
6. Chapstick
This one usually gets a few eyerolls but chapped lips and other areas of dry skin can be painful and can lead to worsening sores. Chapstick will help to prevent that issue by being used as a lotion and it can also be used as a fire starter or an improvised lube for gear.

7. Dry Bags
DRY BAG
Dry Bags provide you with a quick, easy, and effective way of keeping important items dry in wet conditions. You may be able to get away with using heavy-duty trash bags but ultimately, a quality dry bag will be much more durable.
8. Duct Tape
Duct tape is a true emergency kit staple, yet it’s surprisingly easy to forget. Its versatility is unmatched, whether you need to repair gear, patch up tents, create splints, or even fashion a makeshift rope. A roll of duct tape can be a lifesaver in countless scenarios, so it’s worth having on hand.
9. Eating Utensil
You probably aren’t going to forget to pack some canned goods, or emergency food in your kit but an eating utensil can be easily overlooked. Disposable utensils are too flimsy and can easily break so get a backpacking utensil or spork. It will hold up and can be reused over and over again.
10. Electrolyte Packet
It's really easy to become dehydrated, especially during an emergency, and this isn't just the loss of water but the imbalance of electrolytes. Pre-made electrolyte packets make it easy to stay in balance or you can learn to make a homemade version by clicking on this video.
11. Emergency Whistle
When an emergency happens there are two basic ways to get the attention of someone who can help you. Using audio signals or visual signals. An emergency whistle is a great tool for sounding the alarm over a long distance without exerting much effort.
12. Glow Sticks
Glow sticks are a great backup light source. They don’t require any batteries or a power source like a flashlight or lamp, and they don’t pose a fire safety risk like candles. They provide just enough light so you can see your way without being overly bright.
13. Hand Sanitizer
Not only does hand sanitizer help you to conserve water while keeping your hands clean, but it also makes a great fire-starting aid.
14. Magnifying Glass
A small magnifying glass doesn’t take up much space and it will help you to read the fine print, it can have first aid applications and it can be used to start a fire.
15. Manual Can Opener
A manual can opener is a super easy item to forget but if the power goes out how else are you planning on opening up all those stored canned goods? It’s a good idea to not just pack one of these, but several.
16. Nail clipper
Keeping your nails trimmed and clean is more important than you may think. Nail clippers are the best tool for this job plus they do have some first aid applications and can be used to trim up fishing lines or sewing thread.
17. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Some advertisements of people after or during a disaster are depicted as the person looking cool with their sunglasses covering their faces. In reality, they should be covered from head to toe in PPE. This includes items such as eye protection, hard hats, helmets, elbow pads, knee pads, work gloves, rubber gloves, hazmat suits, and face shields.
18. Safety Pins
Not just for sewing, safety pins can be used in first aid applications, holding two items together, pushing small buttons, and as improvised fishing hooks.
19. Sewing Kit
You don’t realize how important a sewing kit is until you have holes or tears in your clothing and gear. You can purchase a small kit or make one yourself, just be sure to have a variety of different needles, thread, and patching materials.
20. Sharpening Tools
Every emergency kit should have some type of cutting, chopping, or sawing tool in it. Ideally, it should have all three. Having any one of these tools means you should also have the appropriate sharpener to go with it.
This will allow you to keep your tools in good working order. Sharpening tools to consider include puck sharpeners, Arkansas stones, metal files, chainsaw or saw blade sharpeners, ceramic rods, diamond rods, pocket sharpeners, and a leather strop.

21. Shemagh
SHEMAGH
You can think of a shemagh as the big brother to the bandana. Not only is it bigger it also has more applications such as a face mask or an arm sling.
22. Shoelaces
Shoe laces or boot laces take up hardly any space at all so it's a good idea to have several extra pairs of them. Why? Because if there is any walking, hiking, or climbing in your future, it’s not going to be fun or safe to do so with a pair of broken laces.
23. Signal Mirror
When you need a visual cue to get someone’s attention, a signaling mirror is a great tool to use during the daytime. They are small, easy to use, and can be seen over many miles.
24. Stationary
A pad of paper, pencil, ballpoint pen, and permanent marker will allow you to record important information or observations about your situation. It also gives you the ability to relay that information to others.

25. Survival Fishing Kit
FISHING KIT
This one might seem like an obvious thing to have but believe it or not some people could care less about having one as they prefer to hunt or trap for food. The truth of the matter is that fishing supplies are quite versatile because they can be used for trapping as well as fishing and generally speaking, fishing is much safer and more energy efficient.
26. Tiny Survival Guide
We like to think that we are ready for anything but when a disaster or emergency happens, it can be hard to remember everything we need to remember in the heat and stress of the moment. A pocket survival guide can always be with you so that you don’t always have to remember everything.
27. Tourniquet
Everyone thinks that a general first aid kit will serve them after a disaster situation. Sorry to say that’s not true and you should really be packing something more robust and certainly have a few tourniquets available because it is likely you will be dealing with more than some papercuts and little splinters.
28. Trash Bags
Sometimes you don’t need an expensive specialty item. Sometimes all you need is a simple trash bag, yet a simple trash bag can be highly versatile. Because of this, we recommend getting yourself two different kinds. Heavy duty trash bags for tougher jobs, and regular kitchen-style bags for when you need light containment.

29. Water Key
WATER KEY
These tools are especially important to have in any urban emergency kit. Many modern buildings that have outdoor water faucets have been retrofitted to be turned on and off with a tool that looks a lot like a miniature four-way wrench. This little wrench is called a sillcock key or water key and every emergency kit should have one.
30. Ziploc Bags
Ziploc bags are often overlooked, but their uses in an emergency are endless. These resealable bags can store food, protect electronics from moisture, hold small items like matches or medicine, and even be used as makeshift water containers. They’re lightweight, take up almost no space, and can provide much-needed organization in a chaotic situation.
End Of The List
Well, there you have it. A list of some of the most forgettable but also some of the most important items that you don’t want to forget to pack into your emergency kit. Be sure to use the above list as a jumping-off point and a checklist for your emergency kit.
Don’t forget to add anything else you think is important to the list so that you are better prepared for an emergency.

25 Must-Have Items for The Coming Chaos.
It’s getting harder to deny—the world is heading toward a perfect storm of instability. The global economic system is cracking as more countries back away from trading with the U.S., and America’s main oil lifeline, the Permian Basin, has peaked and is already in decline. And now, India and Pakistan—two nuclear-armed nations—are at war.
Meanwhile, AI is rapidly replacing millions of jobs, social division is reaching a boiling point, and experts warn that a bird flu pandemic with human-to-human transmission is only a matter of time.
Considering all of this, being unprepared isn't just risky—it's reckless. Now more than ever, it's crucial to make sure you have essential supplies to get through whatever comes next.
So, how can you prepare your family for the coming chaos? You start with making sure you have all the essential supplies. We wracked our brains and came up with this list of the top 25 must-have items. Check it out below. Note: List below is in alphabetical order.
1. Barter Goods
Not everything will be about survival—trade will emerge quickly. Stock extra lighters, hygiene products, small liquor bottles, ammo, coffee, and chocolate. These will be worth their weight in gold. Here's a list of barter items to check out.
2. Batteries & Flashlights
Always have a variety of batteries stockpiled—AA, AAA, D, and 9V. Buy in bulk to save money. Make sure you also have a collection of reliable LED flashlights and headlamps.
3. Books (Cooking, Medical, Survival, etc.)
You can never have too many survival books, and going into an economic collapse, you have no idea what you might encounter. The Internet will be useless if the power goes out, so build a hardcopy library covering first aid, food preservation, bushcraft, off-grid living, and alternative medicine.
4. Canning Supplies
Make sure you have plenty of canning jars, lids, and other canning supplies. And if you haven't been canning food, now is a great time to get started because fresh foods might become hard to find or very expensive.
5. Cast Iron Cookware
Cookware is a must, and since you won’t be going out to eat, you need to have good pots and pans. You can’t get better than cast iron cookware, which you also can use over a campfire or a grill. Make sure you have several sizes.
6. Communication Gear
When cell towers go down or the internet is restricted, staying informed and connected is crucial. Stock a hand-crank or solar-powered emergency radio with NOAA weather channels and AM/FM.
Also consider walkie-talkies or ham radios (with a license) for local communication with neighbors, family, or prepper groups. Here's a guide to communicating when the grid goes down.
7. Duct Tape & Cable Ties
Since you won’t be able to find or afford new things when the economy collapses, you need ways to fix what you have. Duct tape and cable ties are incredibly useful for patching holes, insulating wires, and other makeshift repairs.
8. Garden Seeds
An economic collapse is a serious event, throwing an entire country into chaos. You need to be able to provide food for your family, and having garden seeds is one way to do that.
Make sure to buy heirloom, non-GMO seeds and aim for at least a one-year supply. Focus on calorie-dense and high-yield crops: potatoes, beans, corn, squash, tomatoes, and greens.
9. Garden Tools
Garden tools are needed if you’re going to grow your own food. During the Great Depression, everyone had a victory garden. It wasn’t a hobby; it was needed for life.
Make sure you have several heavy-duty shovels, spades, hoes, a good wheelbarrow or two, rakes, pruners, and whatever else you think you need to grow a large garden. Here's a guide to garden tools.
10. Generator
When the SHTF, people will rush out and buy generators. Look for a solar generator, if possible, because gas generators require more maintenance.
Plus, you have to store gasoline, and they’re much noisier, which could make your house a target. If you go this route, don't forget to add Stabil to your gas and consider a generator lock box for security.
11. Hygiene Products
Make sure you have body soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, and other hygiene products. Remember, poor hygiene leads to infection—and doctors may not be an option.
12. Kitchen Tools (Manual)
Blenders and mixers won’t work without power. Look for manual egg beaters, can openers, graters, and food mills. Old-school tools will suddenly be vital again.
13. Lighter Fluid & Charcoal
If you no longer have gas or electricity, you need to cook somehow. A charcoal grill can be a lifesaver. Keep bags of charcoal dry and store multiple bottles of lighter fluid for fast fire-starting.
14. Lighters and Matches
You never can have too many matches or lighters on hand. Fire is what brought mankind out of the stone age, so let’s not go there again. Include strike-anywhere matches, waterproof matches, and long-stem fireplace lighters. Store them in waterproof containers.
15. Meat (Canned or Frozen)
Canned meats like chicken, beef, spam, and sardines last years. Frozen meats are great, but you need a backup plan if the grid goes down. Canning meat is one way to make it shelf-stable, and some prefer to smoke or dry their meat into jerky.
16. Medications
Medications are always a must-have item to prepare for an economic collapse. If you have a chronic medical condition, some doctors will prescribe extra in emergencies, but it is more challenging because insurance companies only refill after so many days.
You want to have a good supply of over-the-counter medications, such as:
Pain relievers
Allergy medications
Cold & flu medications
Antacids
Vitamins
Wound care supplies
17. Multi-Tools and Knives
You’ll use these every day for building, cooking, cutting, fishing, repairing, sharpening, self-defense, and more. Get a few high-quality fixed-blade knives and a reliable multi-tool like a Leatherman.
18. Oil Lamps and Lamp Oil
I prefer oil lamps when the electricity goes out, but you have to know how to use them safely and have lamp oil on hand. They're great for ambient light and easier on the eyes than flashlights. Make sure you stock lamp oil, extra wicks, and know basic safety for indoor use.
19. Oils
Aside from non-perishable foods, you need to have cooking oil available as well. I was shocked when I couldn’t find any in the stores during the pandemic. People stockpiled quickly! Coconut oil, olive oil, and lard store well long-term. Rotate your stock and store in a cool, dark place.
20. Sewing Supplies & Fabric
During the Great Depression, my grandmother’s mom made all of her clothing because they were too poor to buy clothes from the store. Unfortunately, it’s a possibility that may be in our future. Buying fabric by the bolt is considerably cheaper than by the cut.
You should also have basic sewing supplies on hand so that you can mend clothing and whatever else needs fixing around your home. Get a manual sewing kit, fabric scissors, extra needles, thread, and bolts of cheap fabric for repairs, curtains, and clothes.
21. Staple Foods
Everybody needs to have a well-stocked pantry. In Venezuela, food prices doubled in less than 30 days, and we saw shelves empty during the start of the pandemic. Food is an absolute necessity.
If possible, focus on storing six months to one year of staple foods. You want to have basic staples like wheat, rice, pasta, oats, beans, sugar, and powdered milk. Stocking up on long-term food storage containers, like those from Augason Farms, is an excellent option because they have a 25-30 year shelf life.
You also need canned goods, boxed mixes, cereal, condiments, and other foods for your pantry. Adding staple foods to your storage is one of the best investments for an economic collapse.
22. Tarps and Stakes
Honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to have too many tarps and stakes. You never know when you’re going to need them. You’ll use them for shelter, rainwater catchment, shade, or covering gear. Heavy-duty tarps and a variety of stakes can make a huge difference in a crisis.
23. Toilet Paper and Feminine Products
We all laugh and joke about the toilet paper problems we had during the pandemic, but you really do want to have some stockpiled. Eventually, if an economic collapse lasts for a long time, you’ll run out and have to consider some toilet paper alternatives.
If you have women in your house, having a stockpile of feminine products is a must. The last thing you want is an infection or bacterial disease because you didn’t have the right products.
24. Water Purifiers
Clean water is non-negotiable. Stock LifeStraws, Sawyer Minis, gravity filters, and water purification tablets. Keep several options on hand. Even if the taps are still running, water treatment plants often don't purify water as well if the economy is crumbling and budgets are cut. You’re not guaranteed clean tap water.
25. Wool Blankets & Sleeping Bags
Heat might not always be available. Wool stays warm even when it's wet. Stock up on wool blankets and at least one quality sleeping bag per person.
Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, the likelihood of an economic collapse keeps increasing, so gathering the must-have items for the coming chaos is the responsible thing to do. These are just a few of the items you want to have in excess if the economy collapses.

-THE BITCOIN ISLAND LIFE-

The Fata Morgana effect is a type of superior mirage where distant objects, like ships or coastlines, appear distorted, stretched, or even floating above the water.

It's caused by unusual bending of light due to temperature inversions in the atmosphere, where cooler, denser air lies below warmer air.

This inversion causes light rays to bend downwards, creating the illusion of shifting, distorted, or elevated images.
Fata Morgana mirages significantly distort the object or objects on which they are based, often such that the object is completely unrecognizable.
A Fata Morgana may be seen on land or at sea, in polar regions, or in deserts. It may involve almost any kind of distant object, including boats, islands, and the coastline. Often, a Fata Morgana changes rapidly.
The mirage comprises several inverted (upside down) and upright images stacked on top of one another. Fata Morgana mirages also show alternating compressed and stretched zones.
The optical phenomenon occurs because rays of light bend when they pass through air layers of different temperatures in a steep thermal inversion where an atmospheric duct has formed.
In calm weather, a layer of significantly warmer air may rest over colder dense air, forming an atmospheric duct that acts like a refracting lens, producing a series of both inverted and erect images.
A Fata Morgana requires a duct to be present; thermal inversion alone is not enough to produce this kind of mirage.
While a thermal inversion often takes place without there being an atmospheric duct, an atmospheric duct cannot exist without there first being a thermal inversion.

"Find a beautiful piece of art. If you fall in love with Van Gogh or Matisse or John Oliver Killens, or if you fall love with the music of Coltrane, the music of Aretha Franklin, or the music of Chopin
- find some beautiful art and admire it, and realize that that was created by human beings just like you, no more human, no less."

The monumental stones of Sacsayhuamán are a marvel of ancient engineering. Some blocks soar to 29 feet tall and can weigh up to 200 tons.
Remarkably, they were expertly fitted together with incredible precision, all without mortar. The sheer scale and weight of these stones have baffled experts for ages. How did the Inca manage to quarry, transport, and position such massive structures over a challenging mountainous terrain?
Or did they mold them on the spot from a malleable mass into unique blocks to make the structure earthquake proof?
These questions still continue to intrigue archaeologists and engineers, making it one of the most captivating puzzles of ancient history.

This building, located on Ignacio Allende Street in the Tlatelolco district of Mexico City, has impressed millions online with its earthquake-resistant reinforcement, which has become a model taught in engineering schools.
After the devastating earthquake that struck Mexico City on September 19, 2017, which led to the collapse of several buildings in the capital, this building underwent thorough structural inspections, which revealed structural weaknesses resulting from severe vibrations. Although it did not collapse, the damage was sufficient to prompt engineers to take urgent action to enhance its safety.
An innovative external reinforcement system was implemented using massive steel beams, shown in blue, in an X-shape, covering the entire facade. This system, known as Exoskeleton Reinforcement, absorbs seismic forces and distributes them throughout the structure more effectively, without requiring the evacuation of residents or compromising the building's functionality.
The engineering used here represents a successful combination of advanced technical solutions and maintaining continuity of use. This experience has become a model for designing and strengthening buildings in seismically active areas.

1930s Two-Handed Tapping from Roy Smeck.
Born in 1900, Roy Smeck was a real fan-favorite on the vaudeville circuit during the first half of the twentieth century, with his skill on the banjo, guitar, steel guitar, and especially the ukulele earning him the nickname “Wizard of the Strings.”
To supplement his act, Smeck also developed novelty dances and what could be called “trick playing” to stand out from his contemporaries, some of which can be seen in action in the video clip.
Filmed in the 1930s, Roy can be seen performing “Rubenstein’s Melody in F,” using a whole manner of techniques more commonly associated with modern guitar players, including percussive effects and finger tapping—the latter usually linked with electric guitar and in particular ‘80s shred.

From Led zeppelin second album onward, jimmy page primarily wielded a Gibson Les Paul guitar, famously acquired from Joe Walsh, paired with powerful Marshall amplifiers to craft his signature sound. In the studio, he also employed a Harmony Sovereign H-1260 for the acoustic textures on Led Zeppelin III and IV.
