QUESTION for any audio engineers/sound aficionados/podcast savants on Nostr: will there be a significant/noticeable difference switching from a Shure MV7 USB mic plugged directly into my Mac to a Shure SM7B + mixer/interface (e.g. RODECaster Pro)?
I tried out the Shure SM7dB (the one with built-in pre-amp, not the standard SM7B,) plugged into my Mac via XLR-to-USB adapter, but I found the pre-amp added a ton of background buzz (maybe a shitty adapter?) and I still liked the sound on my old MV7… so I’m going to return the SM7dB, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it to splurge on a standard SM7B + mixer/interface or if I should just stick with my trusty MV7 setup with USB connection to Mac… For anyone using an SM7B: do you like it? What mixer do you recommend?
The SM7B is not that much more expensive than the MV7, but buying a decent quality mixer makes it a lot pricier… Still just a one man show here so trying to figure out if I should just bite the bullet and upgrade… Any advice greatly appreciated.

How many local mic inputs do you need?
Anything direct connected to the computer will likely have high noise (especially when it's a laptop and it's plugged into power) external sound cards help a lot, and most come with good mic preamps built in.
Best bang for buck is probably an external audio interface like a scarlet. Puts all your audio i/o outside the noisy computer and gives you flexible physical cable routing for different scenarios.
Tbh most of the nuance in mic selection and preamp selection (other than signal to noise) gets destroyed when encoded for broadcast on most settings, and the other poster is correct : it's mostly about mic technique, proximity effect, and basic eq to get the sound you want across different listening environments.
It's worth playing with different mics (keeping everything else the same) to find one you like with your voice with minimal eq needed, but there are so many other variables with broadcast encoding and analog to digital conversion that might impact things, if you really want to dig in we would have to discuss the whole signal path from voice to earholes
It's time for Lightning⚡️ and it's time for BOLT12🔩

As of today, OCEAN miners can attach a BOLT12 offer to their #Bitcoin address and get paid out over Lightning!
BOLT12 offers allow us to request multiple invoices for any amount while only requiring the miner to set things up once.
Miners simply sign a message containing the offer using the private key associated with their Bitcoin address.
Using BOLT12 also allows us to prove to the world that a payment was made, the size of the payment, the node to which it was paid, and that it was paid by us.
This means we can continue to offer fully transparent and verifiable pooled mining while no longer being restricted by the base layer!
Using the Bitcoin stack to its fullest is how we eliminate the need for trust and bring sovereignty to mining.
Tbh I don't remember where I initially installed it from.
I just tried both the links from zeusln.app page and had the same result, error installing.
Sounds like backup, delete, reinstall, restore might doo the trick unless you've got any better ideas?
And, thanks for the support and amazing product!

Heyo,
Trying to migrate from Phoenix, I got a notification that I need to update from 0.8.0 to the newest version (fee message error).
I tried updating from the android app store, failed.
I tried updating from the .Apk, which also failed.
Any idea what's going on here? Do I need to backup, delete, and reinstall?
(in the process, I accidently closed my one open channel somehow, so once that confirms, delete/reinstall shouldn't be too painful.....
Thanks in advance!
