Unrelated to bostr here are some other relays or nostr based content tools that I'm using in my self hosted stack or plan to run soon that you might find useful for RB.

nostr:npub1utx00neqgqln72j22kej3ux7803c2k986henvvha4thuwfkper4s7r50e8 fren-relay - https://github.com/bitvora/fren-relay

Very simple config setup and then automatically whitelists any of your follower's for usage as a good home relay. I've only been running it for a few days and its ran well.

nostr:npub1zmc6qyqdfnllhnzzxr5wpepfpnzcf8q6m3jdveflmgruqvd3qa9sjv7f60's GRAIN 🌾 - https://github.com/0ceanSlim/grain

I'm excited to see this project develop more. Based on the current to-do list this could offer everything I currently need in a relay.

nostr:npub138s5hey76qrnm2pmv7p8nnffhfddsm8sqzm285dyc0wy4f8a6qkqtzx624's Nostrcheck server - https://github.com/quentintaranpino/nostrcheck-server

I currently use this to self host my own pictures and videos for my posts via NIP-96 or can also do Blossum. The project also supports tools for NIP-05 and Lightning redirects though that's a little redundant with LNBits.

nostr:npub10td4yrp6cl9kmjp9x5yd7r8pm96a5j07lk5mtj2kw39qf8frpt8qm9x2wl's relay29 - https://github.com/0xchat-app/relay29

This will be a little niche but if you want to run your own NIP-29 Group relay to make sure all of your group information is self hosted this is what I use for nostr:npub1gvmc3nvmjekx7e0qlkeaqw2cqypvtqdcg4ljuz0wfj3zxjnnauys3ngk9f.

H.O.R.N.E.T Storage Nostr Relay - https://github.com/HORNET-Storage/hornet-storage

I've watched nostr:npub1t89vhkp66hz54kga4n635jwqdc977uc2crnuyddx7maznwfrpupqwra5h9's presentation multiple times now and its on my watch list for having everything I need and more in a relay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAf0s-d9W0g

Add this to my list of things I'd recommend for RB

note1xw04kjsq2cnay0xua7l5cnqgu9qkfnun4npmw54tyy68v8kr2wuq4x6jq8

I spun up a new instance of lnbits but this time used poetry to install instead of docker and lnurl works perfect. Not sure if there was something I was forgetting to do in the docker setup I ran or if there's a bug in that flow but a week of frustration on my side is coming to a close.

I'm always out recruiting for nostr:nprofile1qqsp4k846d0waujd6m5dj0eyhmdjdn6tqu4xcymtehvjj0kdhd3yfpspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszythwden5te0dehhxarj9emkjmn99uqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshsj9w5lk is more of why I bring it up. 🀣 I've actually never played real Tarkov. I've only played Tarkov based servers in other games like Rust ironically enough. The concept seems like a lot of fun though.

You took the words out of my mouth nostr:npub10td4yrp6cl9kmjp9x5yd7r8pm96a5j07lk5mtj2kw39qf8frpt8qm9x2wl! I'd love to join the Telegram but I recently deleted Telegram to go nostr only for comms.

Hmm it's odd that you don't see it. I changed it the other day from patrick@minibits.org to patrick@sats.love but I've been getting zaps since the move so not sure why it's not reporting. I guess there might be a relay that hasn't seen that change yet. I'll rebroadcast my notes today to see if I can propagate that better. Thanks for the heads up that it's not showing!

That's what I use. He's also rewritten it in Go as bostr2 that you may like. Last I checked bostr2 doesn't support nip-42 yet so depending on your needs it might be best to use bostr still. https://codeberg.org/Yonle/bostr2

Thank you for your inputs it seems from experience Strfry https://github.com/hoytech/strfry is the most efficient.

Not surprised, it is in C++. Let's have it on the #Raspiblitz too.

Next question for #asknostr:

I find the LNbits Nostr Client https://github.com/lnbits/nostrclient/ incredibly useful for #privacy. It is basically a Nostr level VPN which helps not expose my IP address to any other servers except my own and it just works on clearnet.

Quote: nostrclient is an always-on extension that can open multiple connections to nostr relays and act as a multiplexer for other clients: You open a single websocket to nostrclient which then sends the data to multiple relays. The responses from these relays are then sent back to the client.

Are there any alternatives which are more efficient?

Building the best social media stack here, help a brother out!

In return when works for me I will make it work for you on #Raspiblitz.

I can' t speak to the efficiency comparison but I use nostr:npub1x3azxuysp5vmfer4vgs4jn5tmfcx4ew8sh0qnev7gczljxsr7jwqa3g4el's bostr as an alt to nostrclient

I just read an interesting way to take advantage of student discounts. I guess you can sign up for Universal Learner Courses from ASU and receive a ASU school email address for only $25. Now you have a school email to claim those discounts 🀯
