How useful would it be in terms of local community resiliency to encourage local businesses to take BTC?

Random trip to Twitter and I found a bunch of ETH people sharing around some chart of Lightning that suggested that like 70% of the liquidity instantly (like straight line down) dropped off the network... and they all thought it was real.

Tons of comments like "it was already dead anyway," "of course, they will still defend it," and "not surprising, nobody uses it because it doesn't work."

What makes it so funny is that if they even knew how lightning worked it would be obvious that they were simply looking at a data bug 🤣 . Unless there was some sort of crazy attack, there's literally just no reason to shut down 70% of the channels across thousands of nodes ALL AT ONCE *even* if there was nobody using it (even though traffic is up like 1000% or more). There's no huge cost in just having it there unless a sudden risk emerges or there was simply one massive entity with all the liquidity that had a problem and their node crashed and shut down channels.

It's just not hard at all to understand that this was clearly just bogus data, and it took all of 3 seconds to find a different site and check it. But hundreds of commenters couldn't manage it 🤣

I legit thought we were past the "LIGhTNinG doEsN'T WoRK" phase but i guess i was just in a bubble since i use it as my primary money and payment network every single day.

I had this exact model, it has a SINGLE blade, produces terrible surfaces, has at least 3mm of snipe and 180db of deafening noise.

Whoa that's seems to be a nice thicknesser. Unfortunately Amazon Italy either has cheap Chinese junk or overprized decent stuff like the DeWalt 735 with flat blades at a whopping 800€ or a mid Metabo at 550€.

Yeah that #7 costed me a bit, but it's a joy to use. I only wish I would find some additional blades for replacement. The one it came with is too pitted on the back for my taste.

ATM these are my thicknessers, I'm in the market for a nice planer, but I don't wanna spend a fortune

So, years ago I needed a big surface area in my kitchen where I could cut food, chop vegetables without having to worry about where to set aside what I chopped and don't thrash my countertop.

I also needed a surface where to mix dough without having to worry about space.

So, instead of buying 40€ of cutting board/surface area, I picked up a hobby, spent thousands of euros in tools, built multiple skills (from sharpening, to hand planing, from chiseling, to chopping mortises and dovetailing), watched hundreds of hours of YouTube videos, read a bunch of books about forgotten woodworking styles and techniques, occupied what it should've been my car's garage to amount to this, a chopping board made of European beech and white oak.

I regret nothing.
