it's a miracle it works at all!
ooof done! not as easy as it sounds! just dont look behind the beautiful boxes π
yeah... i've been contemplating the ergonomics of how i have positioned the small boxes and the larger boxes... i have the small boxes closer to me, but based on what you said about 2 hands etc... im gonna swap em around...
i hope they never replace the ar and a4 as i think they're perfect in their imperfection too but that doesn't seem rational from their perspective. then again, they abandoned the Machinedrum...
Well... I arrived at the AR after 1.7 but i think 1.7 was a massive update. and I imagine that's kinda stretching the limits of the platform βΒ pure speculation on my part... I don't think the analog boxes have a concept of 'Machines' in the same way as the Syntakt, Digitone II, or Digitakt II... ?
yeah in my quest to understand why anyone would bother with the OT coming from the DTII I think it begs the question what role the OT plays anymore... I understand the cross-fader and live looping etc. is a big part of the OT but these are small updates on the DTII given the 'machine' modular paradigm of the new Elektron boxes...
i don't know the max length... not something ive ever had to test the limits of. it has multiple timestretch machines ...
ONESHOT
WERP
STRETCH
REPITCH
GRID
i mean large format... but then i wonder if the music industry is so fucked they can see they ship way more at the small box price point... who knows. who cares. π«
well....
caveat is ive never used the OT or the og DT.
but i absolutely love its simplicity and directness. I think from what i understand the OT is very convoluted. And the 128 step thing.
makes you wonder what their move will be with the AR / A4 / OT. will they get upgraded on the new II platform? I'm sure they will. It makes total sense. They need analog flagships on the new platform.
i connect with the dt2 for sure. it's the best sampler i've ever come across. when you want something thats fucking brutal and direct and punchy. it cuts through in ways the analog stuff doesn't.... the digitone is staaaarrrrting to get get used more.
the point is i guess not everything calls for everything. everything has its place.
agree π― with that!
but maybe you're adept with song mode and pattern linking βΒ i'm not there yet!
makes sense! the dt2 and the dn2 make the sequencer feel very cramped by comparison. the 128 steps v 64 makes a huge difference
i'm more in love with the a4 than the ar to be honest...
awesome. did you start with the drum presets on the a4 i guess?
if DEI was a sound concept it wouldn't take so much effort to enforce and crumble so easily
i mean... like communism
π
i meant to ask you earlier. i mean, was it a rewarding experience? π
there are so many musical explorations i want to go on and... im not sure putting a square peg in to a round hole and a round peg into a triangle are what i'm after here π
