I recommend just factory resetting the app and starting fresh. Recovery is may still be wonky. Sovran also uses an underused Nostr feature of mnemonics for account generation. https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/06.md
Sorry if you lost any tokens, do you remember roughly how many? Happy to send you some ecash to make up for it. The appās still in beta so a lot of things are broken and stuff will probably go wrong. We really appreciate you willing to give it a spin and test things out.
We should probably make that clearer on the site and during onboarding. cc nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyw8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnzd96xxmmfdejhytnnda3kjctvqqsvvullpd0j9rltp2a3qqvgy9udf3vgh389p7zhzu65fd258dz5lqgtnl693
*beep* send ecash https://m.primal.net/PqUR.mp4
While one is alive, one must design the best peer to peer electronic cash system possible.
ecash works a little differently. Itās basically just a custodial LN balance. The way to think about it is: youāve got some sats with a mint. You can either spend them like normal over lightning, or you can turn some sats into ecash. When you do so those sats are instantly pulled from your balance, and you get an ecash token you can share through text, SMS, NFC, whatever.
To keep things simple I think the balance should always just be shown in sats. Thatās what Iām pushing for.
They have different capabilities. The biggest difference is that an ecash transaction has different ways of being shared. You can copy + paste the token and then just share that string. LN is more of a traditional transaction in the sense that itās atomic, so the information and actions change.
What if we got rid of the distinction between ecash and ln in the title and just displayed the type as a line item?
Agreed! I tried to clean this up in the design. Will pass along your feedback. Itās aligned with where Iād like to see the home screen go.
It was a Sovran day. I spent the day jamming on the transaction detail display. I think it's coming along nicely.
I also prefer the āæ over the kebab. I don't think I included the kebab in this design, did you see it somewhere?
Any thoughts on this iteration of a potential nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7cmg9ec82unsd3jhyetvv9ujucm0d5qjjamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu33xcmnvve38y6nvde3xuczuctswqh8yatwdahxvmr40qhxjmcqyq0986gqcwaut6kjj5s4al38ktydt773t7eamqgd5vrrvaxtwgfmyh20a8l send flow? Trying to strip out jargon from the send flow. I removed the word āecashā and using more general, normie, intuitive language. https://m.primal.net/PpKr.mp4
What are some ways you think cashu.me could be improved? Any thing that you find frustrating about it when you use it?
gm. Working in bitcoin is such a privilege. We're surrounded by the greats in the field of cryptography, we get to design alongside them, we get to see them work. Itās wild. Inspiration is an incredible feeling.
Progressive Web App. You add the website to your mobile phoneās home page and launch it. Itās designed to feel mobile native while technically being just a web app.

Good call on the npub display. Iāll look into updating that. I redesigned the NUT feature list display last week. It now follows the design guide best practices by showing the names of the features, and weāve hidden them by default. User needs to tap view all to see the list.

I was curious about this claim so I looked up if Jacobin (the most far left publication I can think of) has reported on it, and they have. https://jacobin.com/2018/01/pentagon-budget-government-spending-military
The mission never stops! Good luck man.
My design style is too much Walter Gropius and not enough Henri Matisse.
I was listening to this cover of Spanish Bombs and misheard a lyric in the second verse as, āBack in the Basque, they talk in flashes.ā It brought back a memory of meeting a stranger at a bar in Barcelona in 2017. He was from the Basque and shared stories about his home, his life, and eventually the conflict. He came from a family of proud Basque nationalists and expressed sympathy for the ETA bombings. At the time, I found it fascinating because I had never heard about it before. I remember thinking, āOne day, I want to read and learn more about this.ā

My opinion: Se āecashā. I reject eCash and e-cash. Use the word ecash as you would use the word email.
Just pushed some updates to the ecash design guide based on last callās feedback. Weāll have another PR review on September 19th at 14:00 UTC, focusing on the Design Best Practices section.
