Federated custody lightning will be the future, if you don't like it better use Wells Fargo.
You can have financial self sovereignty on 2nd layers. You can't have 8billion people on chain and there is no technical solution to scale to that afaic.
I wish it would be easy to do but its also not possible to fly to the moon with a car, compromises have to be made.
I guess the best solution for normal people in near to mid future will be Fedimint.
Bitcoin is working fine, if you can't afford onchain just don't use it.
Once the whole world is using Bitcoin onchain fees will be unaffordable for most, probably only companies and banks will do them.
It's great, reliable and safe, but high on chain fees make it expensive to use till they release v2 with liquid/lightning support
That's what fedimint is doing and it's great and the biggest upcoming thing IMO. But nothing on mainnet/production ready yet. Cashu itself is also not ready to reliably store bigger sums, while liquid is. Liquid us like cheap onchain bitcoin with better privacy and worse censorship resistance/safety.
After trying liquid for some time i really like it to pay regular amounts to the same people.
Much more decentralization and censorship resistant than custodial lightning.
Just stacked, we can dump now. You're welcome!
Maybe it's possible to buy amazon (or Chinese equivalent) gift cards in supermarket and sell them for sats online on a p2p exchange
Just noticed Blockstream Green released Lightning support with Greenlight ⚡⚡⚡
Github codespaces are very useful
Probably 100x better than Windows, after using both I prefer Fedora tough, as it feels more stable and reliable
Well you would be selling satoshis to yourself, essentially just sending them from one wallet to another. But you could provide it for your family or friends so they can swap their change for some satoshis.
