Rustlings is a good way to start learning rust
https://github.com/rust-lang/rustlings
Interactive exercises for all the main concepts. Starts simple, has useful tips and links to further reading. To pass to the next level, you have to fix a few lines of code.
Super fun way of learning.
It's what the News tab of search engines was always supposed to be
The only value it does have for normies is, as #[0] pointed out, it makes it easier to give someone your contact.
"Hey how can I add you on nostr?"
"My pubkey is npub..." vs "Just add me@domain.com"
Episode was good, I wish NVK would push more in either direction (or play devil's advocate).
He's too neutral and tries to keep everyone happy :)
Guests give their best when they're a bit challenged.
Issue with your client, ping the dev.
It should fallback to simple LN tips if recipient doesn't support zaps.
Otherwise just adds friction with no reason.

zaplife.lol is cool for realtime, above is a more aggregate picture.
It's a good idea and has signal -- for now.
Just a matter of time until it's gamed with wash-zaps.
I was thinking of an un-gameable alternative. One idea is PoW. Would be cool, for example, if instead of the like count showing X likes, clients would include the total PoW of all reactions, like "X (Y PoW)". This way you can have "1 (20 PoW)" that has more weight than "20 (5 PoW)".
Nostr is a protocol, like a language.
Just like English doesn't need to make revenue to remain operational. It only needs people willing to speak it.
The same way, Nostr doesn't need revenue to remain operational.
Sure It helps bring people over if they can earn money. But bitcoin and LN already solved that, so any protocol or language can be used to send / receive money.
There are other ASCII nostriches with more PoW, you know

Correct.
This is caused by the confusion spread by some who call every LN tip now a "zap".
Or others who say "just get a LN address so I can zap you".
Don't know if they're not aware of the difference, or if they're half-lying to spread zap adoption, but the effects are the same.
Zaps and sending to LN Address are different.
The app should gracefully fallback on normal LN tips if the receiver doesn't support zaps.

Same as zaps are for nostr
Changes the dynamic around tipping
Becomes a proxy for quality of content, which can be gamed with wash-zaps
Not the first one, not the last to notice that

I don't even open that view, it's so cluttered
Keep my own lists on paper
