Worth drilling

I finally realized today why I am on Nostr.

I used centralized platforms for a short time in the early 00’s. I stopped before I got permanent brain damage.

The reason I love Nostr is that it is the only place, as a person living in a small town three hours from the nearest international airport, that I can find even one person that thinks about the things I think about. Especially with the very limited amount of free time I have in a week to reach out to new people, and in a place where I’m not selling all of my personal information to big tech for the “privilege”.

Economics. Finance. Liberty. History. Preparedness. Spirituality. Agorism. Permaculture. Computing. Health. All things that I am fascinated by, but that many don’t even think about as they chat about “who won the game last night” around the water cooler at work.

Thanks for those of you who continue to enlighten me; and allow me to surround myself, even if virtually, by people who I can learn from.

I get bummed out breaking camp. It takes three days to really start feeling like you are part of the bush, and getting really dialed on the flow of outdoor living. You get used to not seeing or hearing anything man made. Then it’s time to pack up and return to clown world. I could live out there full time. But it really makes it special when you have those back to back days.

I got these on Amazon but I want to get some clear ones. They also came with a test light and a piece of photoreactive paper so you can test that their blue light blocking capability is legit. I used it on my wife’s clear blue light glasses and it worked.

I worked security at an intermodal centre where they coordinate loads from rail to trucks for a few weeks in my 20’s, and the dispatch room looked like NASA Mission Control. Every desk had 3 widescreen monitors showing train tracks, loading bays, and load info.
