Lord I’ve tried. I think I accidentally turned on god mode IDDQD at the console.

I love the Nostr shirt logo👍🏽 nostr:note1ap3sau92lzsq2zygsl7ky39u8jvpr0vr9jaqlarjy5cz574hlakseqy2xu

I put flyers up on local bulletin boards, texted all of the people on my “patriots” contact list locally, and reached out to a local freedom cell type organization today, for my first attempt at getting a local Bitcoin meetup going.

Even if I meet ONE other Bitcoiner in my area, it will be worth it. I feel like I am Tom Hanks living on an island with Wilson most days when it comes to people that are interested in sound money.

I’ve started a simple, informative Bitcoin website, developed a curriculum for assisting people in their journey, and at least it’s been a fun exercise.

I’m not looking to orange pill the world. I just want to attract anyone that has even a remote interest in freedom money. And help them along the way. Maybe there’s someone in my community that I don’t know, that is already a maxi.

I also stopped in at the local farmers market today and talked to a few vendors about bitcoin and showed them how easy it is to get set up with a Lightning wallet.

I met a local Hutterite farmer and established a connection for buying beef, pork, eggs and chicken without going to the supermarket.

I’m not expecting much of a response to this initial stab at getting a local Bitcoin meetup started. It’s just such a small town of less than 3000. I’ll be shocked if I get a single RSVP. But I had to do something to test the waters.

If not me, then who?

All I have to say based on my conversations today is “holy shit, we are early.”

I hope I inspire a bit of local interest and can funnel some people over to, IMO the best money, and the best exchange on the block right now, Bitcoin Well nostr:npub19mf4jm44umnup4he4cdqrjk3us966qhdnc3zrlpjx93y4x95e3uq9qkfu2 nostr:npub1k763esjjzm2vzz7gtt38q4wf49zlua72l4rreu3myzghuwwwdqtq2mcg5x

Hi! Awesome news, congrats. I’m in Canada so I was just referring to the ministry of transport. They regulate the industry up here.

X-Plane is amazing. I haven’t used it since version 9 but they actually license a commercial version to industry. It is that good.

Just make sure you have lots of drive space for world scenery modules.

My wife’s cousin was stationed at the naval air station in Corpus training to be a naval aviator, and he let me hop in one of their simulators, not knowing that I already had hundreds of hours on a sim at home. He was actually a bit salty when I took off, flew a perfectly rectangular circuit, and landed with almost no input from him lol.

I fessed up later haha

Go for it!

The knowledge that you will acquire about weather, engines, map navigation, radio navigation, radio communications and principles of flight have broad applications in life in general. And you will meet some of the coolest “switched on” people in the process.

With a little bit of natural ability and the requisite ground school hours, you can be soloing after a dozen hours of dual instruction and take a shot at your ministry PPL flight test inside 100hrs of solo time.

The thing I love about fixed wing aviation is that like many interesting pursuits, it is a “feel” activity. Knowing the critical speeds and performance characteristics of your airframe, but then becoming part of the air mass and making almost subconscious adjustments for your takeoffs and landings.

One thing that I found super helpful when I was getting my student pilot permit was that I already had a decent simulator set up on my PC.

I had MS Flight, and then later X-Plane, with the actual aerodromes and airstrips on it that I was flying into and out of in live training. After a dual instruction session, I could go home and drill the exact same flight 20 times, saving a lot of dual instruction and aircraft rental time and fuel cost. In preparation for upcoming new lessons, I could do the same.

When I did my first simulated forced approach with my instructor, I had already done it many times at home on the sim. In the exact plane, from the same airstrip.

I did my first solo flight after only 12 hours of dual instruction. Was I nervous? Hell yeah. But I felt prepared.

Activities surrounding aviation and parachuting have been the best parts of my life.

My steelman is that I love people, all life really, but people are especially awesome.

Let's take a detour to discuss nostr. Nostr can only exist because some small fraction of the population is interested in freedom tech, but 8 billion people is enough that even that small fraction can have a community. Now extrapolate to even more niche interests you have. I am sure some haven't met critical mass yet. Imagine having enough humans that even your most arcane hobby was a large thriving community where people could make a living suppling quality content. We don't want billions of humans, we want Trillions.

This dovetails nicely with my faith. I am a Catholic. I believe in cooperating with nature to fill the earth with life. I have six children as a result. I don't believe earth is near carrying capacity for humans. More people = more solutions.

But if we aren't over-populated now, with enough Catholics doing Catholic things we will be at some point. So in a way I guess you could say that the logical conclusion to any faith, that makes cooperating a with nature a moral imperative, is that moving out to the stars is also a moral imperative.

The thing is that version on the future is awesome. Humans aren't going to go alone and strew candy wrappers everywhere, we are going to bring our plants and pets. We are going to bring panda bears and bald eagles. Everything that was on a track for extinction with the swelling sun will instead fill the universe with color, stories, and love. And that is what I want, a universe brimming with love.

A little #introduction for the nostr community... I left Canada 2 months before the covid pandemic to go to Ecuador and work on a food forest, planning to return in 3 months. When I got to Ecuador I quickly found out the guy who said he would pay me and pay my flight back was incapable of doing so. With no money, no place to stay, and a strong will to not ask anyone back home for help, I started doing handstands in traffic lights. In just a few hours daily I would earn enough to pay a room, all the food I wanted, and bus passes to visit new cities. 3 days before the 2020 quarantine #agenda21, I crossed to border into Peru to meet a native family in Pucallpa who invited me to drink Ayahuasca for free. Once the quarantine started, I found myself stuck in the northern jungle for 2 months before I gained the courage to continue hitchhiking to Pucallpa. I made it there, drank Ayahuasca about 15 times in a month, and kept traveling as far as I could. eventually I decided to spend some time in Cusco and gain more experience with Ayahuasca and a cactus called San Pedro. I started adventuring through the mountains, finding fossils and crystals, healing myself on another level. i went a year and 5 months barefoot without ever putting my foot in any kind of footwear. I never drank alcohol once, quit smoking cannabis, stopped using the internet for months at a time, and even saw UFOs for the first time in my life on multiple occasions. after 4 and a half years, the journey and self-discovery continue, more free and living life beyond what I once dreamt possible. #travellers #viajeros #livefree #blessed #saved #adventurer #inspire
