Come oh great Yellostr. Join us here full time!

Happy JM user for a while until it just stopped (cannot get the 1st round going). Trying to do a full sweep on a schedule. Added extra directory nodes, manage to receive offers from join market pit, counterparties get selected, but then most or all makers never respond. Then JM retries again and again… and again… zzzz.

I do have Jam installed, but did not try it yet, since the same JM version is used. Will try that next and check the telegram group that waxwing recommended. Thanks for letting me know your JM status! Much appreciated.

Try the telegram group:

https://t.me/joinmarketorg

but would need more info to help. Nothing in 0.9.9 likely to be relevant, but note tor directory node connections have been very problematic for months.

Thanks for the tip. I will check that telegram group out. I was a very happy JM user until it just stopped working. Also upgraded through a few versions prior without issues.

I do have other Jam installs, but did not try them assuming same issue is present. Where to send more info (logs) if needed? Thanks again!

Is anyone able to normally use Joinmarket 0.9.9 (CLI), its tumbler in particular? It was all fine for me until a couple of weeks (months?) ago and now basically unusable. Not sure if it is 0.9.9 in particular, or previous versions too.

To state the probably obvious, this website, while linking to the real joinmarket github, and showing an image of the JAM interface, is almost certainly malicious:

(h/t Alex Waltz for reporting on telegram)

(I haven't actually downloaded the (presumably malware) Windows wallet on a VM myself, but .. do NOT do that. Don't download and run any bitcoin wallet without verifying signatures, at absolute minimum).

Please feel free to share this information anywhere you think it might be helpful.

Hi, I use joinmarket CLI 0.9.9 and for the past few months am unable to coinjoin at all.

I’ve read through PRs 1435, 1436.

Tried to run tumbler for 5-6 times in the past few weeks (30-60 min each attempt).

It gets offers from the pit but there are never enough makers that respond afterwards, so after a few retries I would ctrl-c out of it.

But now, utxos from the starting mixdepth are all marked as “been used too many times” and cannot be used again. I am effectively completely unable to coinjoin.

Is this a widespread experience and is there a fix/update in the pipeline maybe?

Love this tool but it has been taken out of commission by all this ☹️

Thank you for all your work and any feedback!

Welcome to Nostr Saif! Took you long enough 😉

That did not help early e-mail servers (blocklists and spam filters).

What about “commit some sats which you’ll lose if you spam” approach?
