Today's milestone: Fund lightning wallets with some sats to showcase how awesome LN & Nostr are!

Thank you good sir for this helpful resource! #Bitcoin
Thank you for your response sir, I didn't know that the gap limit also applies to the connected server(s) - It'd be best to stick with a reliable server with a good record of privacy then, unless necessary, and to not increase the gap limit only when needed.
I appreciate the helpful tip.

GM, could you elaborate please? (not really random, just a few with good privacy records, but I do alternate between them here and there)

I have a question about public Electrum servers:
If you periodically change the connected public server, say a new server for each session, is it possible for one of those servers to *gossip* and know you've been connected to other servers by retrieving bits of info from the blockchain_headers file?
any insight would be valuable!

Attention please! Your assistance is wanted to help orange pill my family & friends during this holiday season.
The Mission: Use easy to look at illustrations and info-graphics and tutorial videos to hopefully onboard my relatives, friends, and basically everyone I'll be meeting during the winter break, explain what Bitcoin & Nostr, and the blockchain tech are, and introduce BTC as a sound monetary system, and a store of value, and create wallets for them with focus on usability and also sovereignty.
The Audience: Adults who are still in the fiat system, college students, a few retired seniors, also, a few high school students.
How you can help: Any helpful resources, especially those easy on the eye illustrations, links to educational podcast episodes, and any material you think could help.
One person at a time, one block at a time!
Thank you in advance for any helpful contributions.

gotta #asknostr about the way you handle emotions when stacking sats,
say you make a purchase and some time after, could be minutes, hours, or days the price goes even lower
does treating #bitcoin as a store of value to lock-in and preserve your purchasing power help as an approach to help with FOMO and other emotions?
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. always willing to learn and grow.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of monitored Liquid network Electrum servers? (To use in a liquid wallet instead of the default server)
I did find Bitcoin's, but couldn't find the ones for the Liquid sidechain yet. Any help would be appreciated.
Have a great day!
Thank you sir, for the information and for the kind zap. I wish you growth and prosperity 🌱
Thank you for your response sir. Just to recap: Sparrow (or any BTC wallet with sub-account support) does allow the user to create a second account even if the first one has never been used.
Next time in order to restore the wallet from scratch I must either recreate the second account or modify the derivation path manually (depending on the wallet settings / UI)
Please do let me know if I'm missing something. Thank you again for your time and support.

What's the lowest network fee possible for a Bitcoin transaction if network conditions apply?
(is it the same as the liquid chain which is 0.1 sat/byte) ?
Thank you!
Sparrow v2.3.1 has been released to restore BIP32 derivations for consolidation payments in PSBTs.
In addition, hiding amounts is now supported, and the keystores that signed a multisig transaction are now shown on the transaction tab.
Changelog here: https://github.com/sparrowwallet/sparrow/releases/tag/2.3.1
Greetings sir, I hope you're doing wonderful. Thank you for an amazing product. I have a question please:
Do you think its a good practice to skip the first account (m/0'/0') and create a new bitcoin account (HD) in Sparrow leaving the first entirely empty and use the second one. Does Sparrow allow this from a technical point?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but most wallets will not scan for the next account if the first one is unused in the first place, and to simplify the process of following the standard derivation paths.
I thought I'd use a seed phrase + a passphrase + the second account (m/0'/1') altogether to harden my setup, assuming most simple wallets with basic features don't allow setting a custom derivation path, and assuming an attacker don't know about such technical detail *if* they had access to the wallet.
Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

I appreciate your detailed response gentlemen, It's crystal clear.
Here's the point I'd like to expand on if you don't mind:
1. A seed phrase + passphrase = a completely new master private key (xpriv) and thus new child keys, correct?
2. If the master private key of a seed phrase+passphrase is leaked, the extra protective step of the passphrase is useless, correct?
I'm asking because I want to decide about backing up the xpriv of a seed+passphrase wallet.
Hi #AskNostr ⚡ Could you please help me understand the use of an additional “passphrase” feature please?
I thought I had to add my chosen passphrase at the same instant when generating the seed phrase in order for it to get "hashed" — it's not necessary, correct?
Can I add a passphrase to previously generated seed phrases? And even add different passphrases to a single seed phrase for different use cases?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Always learning bitcoin!

good morning nostr, I hope you're having a good day! I'd like to #AskNostr about:
What are the differences, advantages, or disadvantages (if any) between importing a wallet on Electrum and/or Sparrow using the Seed Phrase, compared to doing so using the Master Private Key (xpriv) to create the wallet file & keystore.
I'd like to know so I can decide what method to use (import via seed or the xpriv) for both a hot and a cold wallet use case.
Any help or resources would be greatly appreciated!
