I was poking around in Network, changing relays, then went to "Home." Don't got anymore info but I'll drop this on ya anyway, do w/ it what you will.

I'm on firefox

Which ones? How many of these do you even need tho, fr

Here's what I need to make: a nostr daemon. A small relay like thing that runs on local machine and caches posts. Then a browser extension that will let webpages query the posts from the extension. Then I make a website that doesn't connect to any relays directly, it only talks to the daemon via the extension.

That way I won't lose my stuff on every new page. All webpages will be able to query that daemon.

I send a note to someone using NIP-whatever-makes-it-pick-relays-from-the-nevent, and then I refresh page and now I don't see the note I sent, because I don't subscribe to that relay -- nightmare UX right there.

Very very difficult to find content I care about, actually.

I think pre-selected relays is the only user friendly way atm... Otherwise half the ppl will miss half the topics and that's a terrible experience.

Content curation today is done by certain people spamming "retweet" and then others following their feed

Wasn't that already the case? The apps are banned, many relays are blocked. I'm with you on this one

Is there really a need for a twitter clone

Mempool being full all the time is the indirect result of a soft fork... Think about that.

Bitcoin isn't some "pure" thing, where nothing goes sideways, by any means. #bitcoin

global feed is full of "GM/GN" and other delusions about bitcoin/nostr taking over the world. Why are people like this?

gpt-4 API is available for all (has been for weeks now). Using the API is substantially cheaper than the web ui, though I dunno if the web ui has some bonus features still. Casual use via API costs me about $1/mo

nostr:npub1qqqqqqrm4aehwh4t0mknaxvaqvhxdrvrnquz7a7npdgll3lezkpqq3j5a5 I dropped a comment here https://github.com/islandbitcoin/nostr-chat-widget/issues/1 , in case you have gh notifs disabled.

I tell anyone online that nostr is DOA

Actually idk what "trusted users" are, and the other charts seem to go sideways or up.

nowadays I'm using more of https://nostr.band

it provides unique and amazing tools yet it's blazingly fast.

Some interesting stats there indeed. The user trend seems downward.

fyi: the first example in the "Registries" section links to 404, and the site itself ( RGBEx.io ) seems to be defunct.

RGB is a computing platform.

Like each of the other computing platforms (OS, Web, embedded, cloud, blockchain-based, VM-based) it has its own distinctive features.

Unlike blockchain-based computing platforms, it has access to ephemeral state data, which may be a part of the Lightning channel state, or data provided by a decentralized data network. This is possible since in client-side validation, unlike in blockchain, a single contract may have an invalid state and this doesn’t affect the state of the platform as a whole. For instance, in Ethereum, if an invalid transaction under some contract is included in the blockchain, the whole blockchain becomes invalid (and a different tip is selected). In RGB no global consensus on the validity of all contracts and transactions is required.

RGB isolates each of the programs (“smart contracts”) in its sandbox environment, which provides much better scalability and security than blockchain-based platforms.

Unlike device-based and Web platforms, RGB doesn’t provide random memory access, I/O, or UI, which makes RGB well-suited for embedded devices and environments.

One of the distinctive features of the platform is the use of the functional registry-based virtual machine (#AluVM) and functional type system.

RGB is the first computing platform utilizing PRISM computing model, which is closer to cellular automation computing than instruction-based or neural networks. PRISM stands for “partially replicated state machines”, which at their core represent a highly-parallel multi-agent system made with a functional approach.

Today, RGB (together with AluVM) can be run on x86, AMD64, Aarch64, microcontrollers, and WASM instruction set architectures, i.e. it is a ubiquitous platform (desktop, mobile, server, embedded, Web).

Is anything using it yet? Do you have working examples, hypothetical examples?

Torrent tracker RARBG was closed. I don't know if there's a shortage of torrent trackers, but running a tracker on nostr might be an opening. I think it may be illegal in a lot of places, though. At least I assume so, because there's no big time fediverse torrent tracker.

Happen to have a video of the UX?

Making web apps for nostr is borderline waste of time, mobile users get locked out because of private key shenanigans: the ux is terrible

I always sort of want to try elm, but then again not really because nextjs is so far ahead in terms on DX.

Nutritional science is so biased toward meat eaters... On a plant based diet, it's so difficult to know what to believe.

I cannot tell if high protein is bad for longevity on a vegan diet, or not. Some studies say it's bad for carnies, but is that because they reduce meat consumption, or is it really the protein? And is there a difference between plant and animal protein there? I assume GPT10 will be able to answer these for me

Yeah, I'd like conversations to flow more naturally

Rather than work like Twitter, nostr clients could flat out work like Slack. Maybe.
