So, the tools for freedom are in place: freedom of speech (Nostr); SoV, MoE, UoA (Bitcoin); global trade (Nostr and Lightning). Now what. Let’s do something about it. This is it, chance of a lifetime. I hear a lot about: “we need escrow”, “we need a third party to adjudicate trust”…No. let’s go. This is what it’s all about. Changing from a society where there’s only one value, greed…
We had some great discussions around trust in that context. People longing for a third party to adjudicate disputes between peer to peer monetary settlements for larger transactions. How should that work?
Lol…I’m not worried about them. The combination of Nostr, #Bitcoin and micropayments maybe a great path toward Bitcoin adoption. Interestingly, those me be the tools to make the entire economy work.
You made my day! I love your forward thinking about how Bitcoin will change the world for good!
Same here. Enough good discussion to keep busy here :) somehow I lost a lot of followers, including Jeff Booth @jeffbooth who had originally followed me when the community was still small on Nostr. I guess the Twitter networks carry over to here.
IMHO- it’s very fiat thinking to project one’s own responsibility to someone else in the guise of safety. It leads to a race to the bottom, over regulation and surveillance.
Lost a lot of followers including Jeff Booth 😟#[0]
Something I said probably. Feedback appreciated.
In addition to bring a free public square, it’s also a free market for ideas, content, goods and services. It’s a game changer.
Same, don’t know how to post a picture…anyone?
I meant, don’t follow your train of thought. I was curious about your reference to Zimmermann, upon which you replied for me to grow up ….
ZAPs are so much more than likes…think free market
💯 everything is energy. Energy is life. The higher the sophistication the higher the energy consumed. The question is how well do we respect the gifts given to us.
Well, we have Bitcoin and we Nostr. How about the forest for the trees? Let’s focus on the big picture. You have the platform.
There’s enough discourse on Nostr now that I have completely moved off Twitter. Thank you for supporting my ADD :)
@jack, maybe time to post something profound rather than platitudes snd 🤙? You have a great Follower ship.
It’s even more pronounced in the 1920s. Look at the architecture too. Beautiful cities. Except antibiotics which extended the lifespan it was probably the pinnacle of civilization. https://www.mclib.info/Research/Local-History-Genealogy/Historic-Prices/Historic-Prices-1927
