If you've never purchased anything on nostr or using Bitcoin before, here's how it goes:
When you pm me that you want to buy a blanket, I will send you the colors of yarn available and a lightning invoice. Once it is paid and you send me your color choices and shipping info, I will buy the yarn and get to work. It usually will take about a week and I'll keep you updated as I go along. You could do a solid one color blanket or choose up to three colors. Once it's done and dropped off at the post office, I will send you the tracking number.
It has been over a year of me selling my handmade items on nostr for Bitcoin. I'm never going back to selling for fiat or using third party sites. It really is incredible that I can connect directly with my customers like this. I hope you guys are excited about this as I am!

I sell blankets and beanies for Bitcoin. My business is wholly on nostr. I don't have a website to keep it as simple as possible. my goal is to emulate one on one in person exchange of value as much as possible (as opposed to opening a shop on main street or booth at a market)
you can go very complicated with accepting Bitcoin or you can do it super simple.
I sell physical product for Bitcoin, specifically handmade blankets and hats. I only get paid in Bitcoin. I do not do sales in any other currency.
I work at a small scale so I don't have the leverage with my vendors to ask them to accept Bitcoin. I pay for my supplies and shipping in USD. When I need USD to buy supplies, I convert using Strike.
At a larger scale, you can consider approaching your vendors with paying invoices in Bitcoin. You can also pay your employees in Bitcoin, either wholly or partially. I know a restaurateur who does this and they say employee loyalty and morale increased.
just like how we don't think about what the price of 1 USD is when we buy groceries. a dollar is a dollar. that dollar is buying us less these days but that's another conversation.
this is why you hear people say 1 Bitcoin is 1 Bitcoin. that's the eventuality. One day a Bitcoin won't be priced based on another currency.
I think we'd be hard pressed to see it happen in our generation or even our children's generation. All the more important to instill a sense of work ethic and self responsibility in our youth because that drives Bitcoin adoption.
