I enjoy David Deutsch’s take on “replicators” in his book “the beginning of infinity”. Truth has this property, it lacks any fucks given to what people think. Like a honey badger. Like bitcoin.
The way memes replicate is interesting. Whether it’s a “disease” or otherwise, it has a property that contributes to replicating itself. The judgment on whether it’s good or bad has zero bearing, at least it doesn’t appear to. Look at a virus. Or humans in general.

The anxiety built into the idea of “life is short” is too damn high. I think there is value in pacing ourselves and consider the possibility that life is perhaps long and it’s okay to dial down that time preference.
