My 5yo set a box trap by himself this evening. He watched his grandpa and cousin set 4 last night. Today he can do it himself.

The turkeys we got yesterday are part of my in-laws' flock. They've gotten hit hard by predators at their place and were worried about it at ours as well, so my father-in-law and nephew set half a dozen traps last night.
I felt a little bad killing it, because it was a very big, healthy, handsome coon and I don't yet have the knowledge to make them into hats. My kids would like coon hats.

It's not Joel's gobbledeego, but it'll do. Should be less than $500 to assemble, and it should last several years and be big enough for a larger flock in the future.
Turkeys are my favorite poultry that I've worked with. Not my favorite to butcher or eat, but man are they fun to grow.

Facebook sucks.
I'm trying to play the Facebook game to promote my next book. My first post got lots of traction (comparatively), every post since has had no or near-no engagement. I wasn't able to share one post to my personal page for several hours after it went live. I get it's probably pay-to-play, but it would be nice to not be nerfed right off the bat.

Looking only to the credentialed "expert" class will be our undoing.
The pasture across from my house has a window in the summer with red clover, chicory and Queen Anne's lace blooming heavily together (with some yellow pops from birds foot trefoil), it's absolutely gorgeous
