Insanely cool tech! But I do think there is such a thing as a step too far. Call me old fashioned.

Great list! Thanks for putting this together 🤝

But you still can’t buy Bitcoin directly from these wallets. The only work around would be customers with no bitcoin receive sats from someone who already has sats (a friend they came with or other patrons) on lightning that they would then send to the new wallet address.

This would be a quick and easy way to introduce someone to Bitcoin!

I tried. Damn, this is a hard list to make. I don’t think it’s possible without the wallets that have been excluded from the running. Then again, I’m still a newb so I’m probably wrong. 🤷‍♂️

I’m putting together a list of Lightning wallets to recommend to customers who visit nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h and want to learn how to buy a beer at the bar. ⚡️🍺

Requirement 1: It needs to be easy to set up for someone with minimal bitcoin knowledge, or has experience with crypto but never used Lightning before

Requirement 2: It needs to work without a VPN in New York (and the US in general) – this means NO Strike, Cash App, ZBD, Primal, Phoenix, WoS, etc.

This is a surprisingly hard list to write.

nostr:npub1ajlrwgfj4yerhqf7ady03h7wmtk2qr3gs7h3sxcx83k05yld36sswpzx3q but customers will need to purchase Bitcoin first, send it to the wallet address, and move the on chain sats to lightning before using. Non custodial wallet and you cannot buy bitcoin in the wallet UI. Too many steps? 😬

I’ll check it out. I know I didn’t answer your original inquiry but I hope you find the answer you’re looking for. I enjoyed our conversation! Always great talking to other Bitcoiners.

We’re all learning. Things complicated to us today will not be tomorrow. I don’t see custodial as a problem especially if you’re regularly spending sats on that wallet and not holding long term. Which non custodial lightning wallets have you found complicated?

Non custodial as well!

If you’re keeping a small amount of sats on WoS, that may not be bad especially if you’re regularly buying and spending the sats on that wallet. Thoughts?

And by transferring you mean you have sats on WoS that you want to access or move to another wallet?

To each their own. And it’s not that I don’t like it. I’ve heard great things about it. But needing to get a VPN to access it is a barrier to entry for me when I can spin up another lightning wallet in a few minutes.

I don't think people appreciate the extent of nostr:npub15dqlghlewk84wz3pkqqvzl2w2w36f97g89ljds8x6c094nlu02vqjllm5m's philanthropy activities.

If he was a selfish billionaire, he would quietly tell his friends and colleagues about #bitcoin and the financial sector would transform under our nose.

Instead, he is going on Bitcoin podcasts and to various Bitcoin events, not to promote #microstrategy, but to tell us, the #plebs, that we need to buy as much #btc as possible to front run the institutions and governments of the world so we come out on top.

Fair point. On a note I previously posted, I asked what people thought of the nostr:npub15dqlghlewk84wz3pkqqvzl2w2w36f97g89ljds8x6c094nlu02vqjllm5m nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak discussion where Saylor made comments on Bitcoin and yield. What do you make of that?
