Yeah I get that point and I guess my point is the youth are following in the footsteps of working age adults who still make up the vast majority of suicide deaths. So yeah I agree, kids aren’t being taught coping skills bc their parents also weren’t taught coping skills.
But just to reiterate, I’m not assuming this particular death was self-caused. It could def be that she tragically could not afford life-saving cancer treatment after losing her income. And my original segue to gun violence was to point out the devastation of job loss, not anything about the guns themselves - although it is kinda weird that school violence is always played up and workplace violence is always played down even though it is much greater volume.
Digital careers are going to keep growing as long as people consume digital content and buy goods online. We have to ask ourselves if it’s acceptable to us that these folks have no protection against unfair labor practices. For example, you have to file tax paperwork if you’re going to get paid on TikTok just like any other job, but if your account gets banned, you can’t file for unemployment because technically you’re still self-employed just with no audience anymore. It’s messed up.
It is terrible. She had billions of views, millions of followers, and yet zero protection.
But why couldn’t they be? 🤔 I make diff content on all the platforms so I def have diff audiences on all…
Go on somewhere else with that tribal nonsense. Have some respect.
The statistic I just quoted is mostly grown men, unfortunately. But you’re right that a lot of attention is being paid to youth psychology and school shootings even though 3x more happen in the workplace. This creator who passed was well up in her twenties, maybe early thirties and her income was helping her pay for colon cancer treatment. 😞
I’m under the impression that she had colon cancer, so I’m not trying to jump to any conclusions about what happened in the end. But just imagine having cancer and losing your income. Sheesh.
Ok so if you’re not part of the #TikTok fam then you probably don’t know what I’m about to tell you. A young creator who made videos about celebrity tea had her account banned, which cut off her main income, and now she is no longer with us. RIP Kyle. There are no details about what happened, but she did say publicly that she would no longer be able to afford medical care.
This is the danger of censorial platforms, yall. Most people don’t know that a full 30% of “mass shootings” (shootings of 3 or more people) happen in the workplace when someone has lost their job. This is because losing your livelihood is a huge deal, especially here in late stage capitalism.
Keep her family in your thoughts.
Get well soon!

Thanks for the rec!
Behold the second largest work of masonry in the world (second to the Great Wall of China) and Europe’s least visited historical landmark. My guess is it has to do with the Waldenses - at least that’s how I found it. Enjoy.

Here the Fortress of Fenestrelle video: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRTKMbxd/
GM 🌞 just sitting outside with my coffee thinking about how I should def add another video to my Tiny Castle TikTok series about the story of St Barbara that is wild. It is not lost on me that the only reason I haven’t told this story on TikTok is that I don’t want to get a violent content warning. 😅 Basically St Barbara created a healing device while her father was gone on some crusade. When he got back he accused her of heresy and “tested” her healing device by publicly torturing her and then telling her to heal herself.
Then there’s this whole weird part where she runs away and the mountains swallow her and hide her, but eventually the father finds her and beheads her. Later she was canonized because the French insisted she performed 13 healing miracles in the name of Christ. But then she was removed in 1969 from the calendar of saintly celebrations.
The weirdest part to me is the second largest work of masonry in the world - the fortress of Fenestrelle- has a pyramid on site that bears the inscription: Saint Barbara. I’m sure it’s a coincidence. 😉 Have a good day yall.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you carry him in your heart always.
Yep my grandfather told me in a dream that the holy grail was never a cup it was always a bell. So I went looking for bell history and it’s weird af. Haha
Yes - I’m implying there’s more about bells than we actually know.
Did you read the first part of the note?
Here’s another good one on this topic: the lantern in winter, the water in summer… and he’s holding… a bell…? Weird, huh? 😉
