Right I feel that and I don’t necessarily know the answer. But it’s why I was asking not too long ago about being able to “pin” or “highlight” notes at the top of our profiles for visibility. I like the feature on primal to look at “most zapped” or other most popular but would be cool to make “lists” like I used to on Twitter to filter my feed to see certain people to catch up with. Idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since I was invoked I’ll toss in my 2 sats 😉 y’all are both right. Most people will not gain enough zaps to make an income equivalent yet (like you can on TikTok) so trying to sell people on Nostr based on zaps alone is futile. HOWEVER people are really interested in being able to easily exchange value for value on social media, and it’s attractive to people that Nostr has zero barriers to entry to get monetized (unlike on TikTok where you have to have a thousand followers to start a shop and 10k followers to get paid per thousand views).

So yes, zaps are nifty and fun and certainly part of the overall Nostr value-add, and no, they aren’t the main reason people stay here. People stay here for the freedom and the community.

The two things in my mind that we need to work on to continue to attract users is: searchability and shareability. When content is easy to find and easy to share, it can go mega viral. Wherever there is viral potential, people will go there. That’s how TikTok became a billion user platform.

I’ve also thought about teaching a propagation class with these bad boys and letting people BYOP (bring your own planter) and take home some cuttings. 🤔 is that too nerdy?

You know how farms have “pick your own” days for fruits and whatnot? Can I also do that for flowers and crowd-source my hydrangea pruning? 😅 they will bloom again if I go trim all the current blooms, but holy moly there are just so many. There are probably 500 flower heads out there. This picture shows 5-6 plants, and I think I have 35 total. You can call me the crazy flower lady if you want. It’s fair. 🤣 #flowerstr
