I don’t want to annoy with with Flat Earth stuff and I know it’s a conflict-laden topic but IMHO the amount of coincidences of the geocentric model are too staggering to fully embrace it.

Vibes of Cosmos has a lot of good explainers on how FE would work and it makes more sense: https://youtu.be/bmaPwvKn2B8?si=3vfRnKE3xKBNcXs_

(I’m not going to join into a pro/contra FE/GE debate - just let me know you don’t care and I won’t bring it up again.)

Selling accessoires in fiat and transmutate it right into sats.

I’m actually somewhat experienced with software development and I’ve written JS code before but taking over a huge codebase is still quite the challenge. I’ve been mostly working the operations/DevOps side so I’m not completely unfamiliar with what’s headed my way.

I think I’ll stick with my approach and hope to find someone who wants to join in after having worked with a couple of freelancers.

Appreciate the response btw!

I am a Pleb, recently fueled by AI. I’m addicted to reading research papers - none of which I could get 10 words deep in a few years ago.

I was first inspired by bitcoin and nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll - that’s when I learned Python and docker. Then I discovered

Streamlit. it’s still too early so that didn’t pan out.. I know my stack won’t scale as it’s not high-performance or robust, but it allows me to actually build things.

I have been using Cloudflare tunnels, and a self hosted Mac with enough compute to run open source models. But I recently changed to wire guard on a VPN with a reverse proxy and it’s much better.

Recently, I discovered Open webUI and LangGraph and I have been using it at work to run circles around the “professionally” trained IT staff. Using my secret AI machine in my garage I can complete projects and days that would take them months. Thanks Llama 3!

It has been my dream for about two years now to build something that is easy enough for other plebs to download and use. A self hosted solution for machine learning. We can’t let companies control AI.

My language of choice is Python I have been using Windsurf.ai recently, AND I’M BLOWN AWAY BY IT. Have been dreaming of this tool for a while.

Awesome, AI will change so many people's lives. I'm a terrible developer and AI has enabled me to do so much more.

Just teating how this looks like in my clients. No offense to any Christians intended. 🫡

What's your preferred language and why?

What inspired you get started?

What platform (docker, k8s, VM) do you host your own apps with?

Enjoying some schizo stuff before I go to sleep. Fiat demands me back in shackles.

I'm thinking of adopting the entire project of an abandoned open source codebase and make it into a paid product under a new name. I can only contribute to about 40% of its codebase because I don't know any JavaScript.

One idea is to find reliable paid freelancers on the usual platforms like fiver and hope to find someone reliable for the long-term to handle security & bugfixes.

Still, browser extensions, complex microservice architecture, requires infrastructure, monitoring, eventually fork Android/iOS apps (current ones support self-hosting).

I know for a fact there's demand for it and the alternatives don't compare to it.

Any suggestions from fellow nostriches? Perhaps there a platforms where I could find developers who want to get paid in sats per issue solved or something like that?

gsh looks like a neat approach to a Linux shell paired with local LLM: https://github.com/atinylittleshell/gsh

I'll have to give it a try tomorrow.

A few AI replies from bots on #nostr: Perfectly fine. I can live with that. It’ll probaby get sorted out soon and I’ll have to read up on spam protection for my relay.

A couple dozen of AI generated bot profiles randomly following me on X every day: I know what you’re doing and why you’re tolerating those bots, go fuck yourself.
